STK 3617 1969 Ford Galaxie XL Sportsroof
This unmolested 1969 Galaxie XL Sportroof is a rare full-sized
performance Ford. Fewer than 4,700 of these Galaxies were equipped
with the 429ci/4V engine option. This Galaxie has had a nice
restoration and a MartiWorks Report is included with the car. The
original Lime Gold (code 63) finish was professionally resprayed in
2012 and is in good condition. It is accented with a full black
vinyl top, good chrome and 15" steel wheels with rare factory 'mag'
wheel covers. Radial tires are also in very good condition. Inside,
the Dark Ivy Gold vinyl interior is also in very good condition.
Upholstery, carpets, headliner and dash are well maintained. The
Galaxie is equipped with air conditioning (needs TLC), tinted
windows, simulated English Oak trim and factory AM sound system
(also needs TLC). A full gauge package and tachometer have been
added. Horsepower is provided by the 429ci FE series V8 that is
fitted with a 4-barrel carburetor and was rated at 360hp-480lb/ft.
Owner states this engine is matching numbers that had a rebuild in
2012. It and is backed by Ford's excellent C6 3-speed 'SelectShift'
Cruise-O-Matic transmission and conventional differential with
2.80:1 gearing. The chassis is equipped with coil springs at all
four corner and optioned with power steering and power disc/drum
brakes. The mileage of the car is unknown as the odometer is not
functioning correctly. This Blue Oval classic will look very good
