Factory A/C Car, Not Currently Hooked Up - And Much More! After a
tumultuous year in America in 1968 that saw assassinations,
protests, and the election of a new President, Chevrolet chose to
describe the new 1969 Impala as an understated, reasonable, luxury
car. Simple, purposeful styling resulted in long flared fenders,
slab sides, and just the right amount of chrome thrown into the
mix. In the case of this particular Impala, it had a slight
attitude change, giving it a slightly sportier look, and tastefully
added aftermarket items to give it a bit more 'oomph' when it comes
to performance. Despite being tastefully modified, the factory
options sheet, and Protect-o-plate are still with the car. This two
door luxury automobile, as Chevy proclaimed, is now finished in
Chevrolet's Cortez Silver. The car rolled off the assembly line
finished in Olympic Gold (code 65). Smooth and sleek lines with a
black vinyl roof and black stripes provide a bit of contrast, while
smooth alloy American Racing wheels add a hint that performance was
also in mind. There are no easy spots to see that the car has been
color changed. The change was done in a careful, and we can
imagine, a time consuming, proper manner. The resulting finish is
something a new owner can be proud of. Deep glossy paint, nice body
panel alignment, and proper trim throughout. Bucket seats are among
the desirable interior options that this car rolled off the
assembly line with. Still present in the car are the correct, black
trimmed bucket seats fixed next to the faux-wood trimmed center
console. A horseshoe shifter, push button radio, faux-wood trimmed
steering wheel and dashboard, tilt steering column, deluxe
seatbelts, power windows, clock, and factory air conditioning are
among the other notable interior features. The interior shows very
nicely, with seats and door panel trim in great condition, and the
carpeting is in nice condition throughout. As a passenger in this
Impala, you have the opportunity to feel the power and torque of
the factory 396ci V8 engine under the hood. That's right, this
sleek cruiser was optioned with a 265 horsepower 396, and a Turbo
Hydramatic transmission. Along with the 396 in the engine bay is an
aftermarket aluminum radiator. The transmission remains a Turbo
Hydramatic, however has been upgraded, with power going through the
drivetrain to the 12 bolt rear end which features 348 gears. Giving
the driver the ability to be loud and make it know that there is a
396 under the hood, or fly under the radar, are electronic exhaust
cut outs. Regardless of what was going on at the time that this car
rolled out of the new car showroom, the Impala was an attractive
car that offered great features. The Cortez Silver car you see here
is a special car that has been well cared for and tastefully
modified. Many great options like a 396 under the hood, power
windows, tile wheel, and bucket seats are among many great
highlights of the car. The options list and protect-o-plate are
nice bonuses that come with the car, along with the piece of mind
that this car is ready to hit the open road and get you where you
want to go. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific
