Vehicle Description
-Black with Black-Grey Velour interior and Black carpeting, 1,000
MILES FROM NEW!, Automatic, Time warp condition.
Car and Driver's April 1986 review began: "Corvette, get outa town.
Mustang, Move over. Camaro, Keep your back to the wall at all
times. The biggest, Baddest gun west of the Pecos is loose in the
streets, And there's gonna be some shootin'...." C/D
Turbocharged, With 276 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque it could hit 60
mph in 4.9 seconds, And a quarter-mile time of 13.9 seconds, It was
quicker than a contemporary Corvette, Most U.S.-market Ferraris and
even the Lamborghini Countach.
Additionally, The body was stiffened, The rear suspension was
redesigned (with a longitudinal torque bar and a lateral Panhard
rod, Plus stiffer springs, Shocks, And stabilizer bars). The tires
wire increased in size to 245/50VR-16 front and 255/50VR-16 rear.
They were mounted on special aluminum wheels to better handle that
torque and improve stability. A transmission oil cooler, composite
fender flares, were also installed to handle the added power and
larger wheels. Stewart-Warner analog gauges, Which included a
tachometer, Oil pressure, Coolant temperature, And turbo boost)
were mounted in a modified cluster. Functional front-fender louvers
helped to lower under-hood temperatures. On the outside bold GNX
badges on the grille, decklid, and wheel centers were so you know
what you were up against; and each GNX got its own serial-number
plaque on the passenger-side dashboard.
There were 547 1987 Buick GNX's produced and this one has only
covered 380 miles since new. This GNX came to us through a good
friend and collector and is in all original condition, It looks and
drives just like the day it rolled off the assembly line in
Detroit. The exterior is paint is in impeccable condition and the
interior shows no wear what so ever.
It has been collector owned and serviced it's entire life, it has
recently received a thorough service and 4 new tires to be ready
for its next new home.
This GNX is well-known to us, having been sold by us and into its
most recent California, celebrity ownership. It has been traded to
Autosport Designs towards another automobile from our inventory,
solely due to a change in the direction of the collection to
vintage European automobiles.
