Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this
1963 Chevrolet Impala SS. This is about as good as Impalas get,
when they're dropped, covered in slick paint, and given the coolest
of both worlds with classic style and modern amenities. Under the
hood is where this SS shines with the 350CID V-8 with upgrades such
as a mild cam, FiTech fuel injection, aluminum radiator with
electric fan. The suspension has been updated to handle the extra
power with new upper and lower tubular control arms, Hotchkis front
and rear sway bars, CPP front and rear shocks, 4-wheel Wilwood disc
brakes and Flaming River rack and pinion power steering. Riding on
17" chrome Ridler Style 645 wheels wrapped in Yokohama 245/45s in
the front and 275/40s in the rear you can be sure to hug the
corners tightly. The front bucket seats and rear bench are
upholstered in red vinyl with white inserts and are joined by a
color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Equipment includes an
SS center console, a Lokar shifter, polished door sill plates, lap
belts, vent windows, engine-turned aluminum trim, cold blowing
Vintage Air, Bluetooth Retro-Sounds stereo with Kicker speakers.
The painted two-spoke steering wheel sits on a Flaming River tilt
column and frames a 6k-rpm tachometer, a horizontal-sweep 120-mph
speedometer, clock, and a fuel level gauge. Three gauges are
mounted in the center stack for water temperature, battery charge
and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows just
over 7k miles, although true mileage is unknown. Finding clean
Impala SS hardtops is getting harder all the time, and this
beautifully finished restomod is 100% ready to enjoy today.
