West Coast Classics are proud to present an exceptionally well
maintained and striking example of this southern California 1974
BMW 2002 2 Door Sports Sedan with the 4 speed manual transmission!
This is an obviously always garaged car with no rust and no history
of any accidents and which was recently comprehensively
mechanically overhauled with a rebuilt and rebored engine with a
new timing chain, a rare and highly internationally desirable
example of the iconic 2002 model BMW!The BMW 2002 was the high
performance model (1972-74) of the 2002 model line which changed
the automobile world forever with the introduction of an everyday
compact 4 seater car with a measure of sportiness and
sophistication, that along with BMW's legendary reputation for
engineering and high quality construction, caught the attention of
sport car enthusiasts the world over. The assembly, finish and
workmanship of these cars was first rate but with a stark and
business like 'no nonsense' approach with a black instrument panel,
dished three spoke steering wheel which was designed to make easily
visible the important speedometer, tach and fuel/temperature
gauges, hand cranked windows and in true sports car tradition there
was no radio, no power steering, no door locks, no cruise control
and naturally, no air bag! This particular model is quite stunning
and striking with the ugly '74 year only front bumper having been
removed and boasting Recaro bucket sports seats. This particular
car is finished in a beautiful 'Cream' color which was painted at
great expense and has a very striking 'Recaro' sports seats Tan
interior. There are no signs of there having been any accidents or
damage or previous rust! Please note there is some minor wear on
the drivers seat bolster and a small crack appears in the dash. The
car drives exactly like such a well maintained model should with
over $8K in recent service history including the engine rebuild,
and must be seen and driven to be truly appreciated! The 2.0 litre
engine is extremely strong and powerful and the four speed manual
transmission has a very smooth transmission shift through all the
gears and the temperature always remains cool! You will surely look
long and hard to find a finer example of this rare and
internationally desirable 1974 BMW 2002 2 door sports sedan model
for the ultimate compact 2 Door Sports Sedan car driving
experience!
