Details
This highly customized 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T is powered by a 6.1L HEMI V8 engine that sends power through a five-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. This resto-mod is painted in seven-stage Onyx black matched with a black leather interior. This Challenger received a transplanted modern drive train along with a custom MagnaForce K member, coil-over shocks, four-link rear suspension, Wilwood brakes, custom stainless steel exhaust, and ceramic-coated headers. Aesthetically the car features “sharpened” lines and 20-inch custom ADV1 wheels with Nitto tires. The interior is matched with new black European leather and a modern Dodge automatic shift gate. A complete list of modifications can be found below. The digital odometer reads 255 miles, but the true mileage is unknown. This resto-mod is located in Kansas.
The condition of the black paint and black interior is well-represented in the third-party photos of the car. The vehicle’s exterior is in fine condition, and the interior condition is the same. The inspection report does note that the inner door window trim needs to be re-adhered. The inspection found the car to be in good working condition and the overall quality of the car to be congruent with the photos. Included in the sale of the Challenger are two sets of keys, the original gauges, the original steering wheel, LED headlights, and a rear deck lid spoiler.
This Dodge Challenger is being sold through a CLASSIC.COM Pro and is located in Eldorado, Kansas.
About the model
The Dodge Challenger was a series of pony cars introduced for the 1970 model year. The first generation Challenger was introduced alongside its corporate cousin, the Plymouth Barracuda to compete with Mercury and Pontiac in the pony car market and was offered in coupe, hardtop, and convertible body styles. These rear-wheel drive cars were available with a variety of inline-six and V8 powerplants. Dodge produced two notable performance variants known as the T/A and R/T for the first generation Challenger, which was built until 1974 when the model was discontinued. In 1978, Dodge revived the name when it introduced the Second Generation Dodge Challenger. Today the Challenger name lives on in such variants as the Challenger Hellcat and Demon.
