This classic Gypsy Red and India Ivory 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air has been re-imagined with a comprehensive restoration and modernization, with attention focused on factory exterior details and appearance. The body’s ornamentation and trim is all brilliantly polished or rechromed and true to the original Bel Air style, but the car’s appearance had been given the “go-fast” treatment with a set of chrome Cragar SS wheels and a raked stance. Powered by a rebuilt 454 CI Chevrolet big-block V-8 engine mated to a 4-speed 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission with a B&M ratchet shifter, the Bel Air is also equipped with a Chevrolet 12-bolt positraction rear end and power-assisted front disc brakes.
The interior treatment carries over the red and white color combination with bucket seats, a center console, Vintage Air, restored 1955 Chevrolet steering wheel, a tilt steering column, Auto Meter electronic gauges in the dash, and an aftermarket stereo system with 10-disc CD changer. The engine compartment is super detailed with polished and chromed componentry including a Be Cool radiator with dual electric fans, Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake manifold, 4-barrel Edelbrock carburetor, a front runner accessory system, high-amp alternator, Hooker headers, ribbed valve covers and air cleaner, dual-circuit power brakes, a custom battery box and custom hood hinges. The detailed undercarriage features a front anti-sway bar with front coilover shock absorbers and rear upper shock absorber mounts reinforced with heavy-duty floor plates.
