Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is very excited to offer to you this
California-born real-deal 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z28! This stunning
Z28 comes to us dressed in it's original color - Cortez Silver -
accented by black racing stripes. Even more importantly, this car
comes to us with it's original numbers-matching engine and
transmission! That's right, this beauty still retains it's original
drivetrain! The paint is obviously not original, but the respray is
a quality one and the paint is in high-driver level condition. The
front of the car sports the much-beloved split front bumper with an
eggcrate grill that was part of the RS package. We do not know if
the car was born a RS (as we have no window sticker or build
sheet), but the front end looks as good as factory and there are
other RS attributes present like hideaway wipers and bright window
trim. The bright work on the front end is in very good condition
with gleaming bumperettes, headlight bezels, and grill surround. A
black chin spoiler up front adds to the sporty appearance. Moving
around to the sides you'll notice the laser straight body and
excellent panel fitment. There is a fair amount of high quality
bright work to liven up the sides, like chrome rocker covers, hood
trim, window trim, door handles, and Z28 badging. In the rear is a
1-piece deck lid spoiler with Z28 emblem, round double trim-ring
tail lights (much like a Corvette of that time), another beautiful
chrome bumper, and dual polished exhaust tips. This whole package
sits proudly atop factory 5-spoke gray Chevrolet 15" mag-type steel
wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial TA's. Lift the hood to find an
exceptionally clean and freshly painted engine bay that is home to
the original 350ci 360hp LT1 engine. The V-8 is dressed up with
finned valve covers with cross-flags emblems, a Holley 4-barrel
carburetor, and a chrome-topped air cleaner with a 350ci 360hp
call-out sticker on top. Also under the hood you'll find a factory
correct Delco battery topper, power steering, and power brakes
(disc/drum) with dual reservoir. The LT1 is mated to the same
Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission it has been with since 1970.
In fact, both the engine and transmission in this car were built
only two days apart in May of '70! The Muncie puts power to the
pavement via a 12-bolt Posi-traction rear axle with a 3:31 gear -
perfect for freeway cruisin'. Open the drivers door to find an
all-black standard interior, just the way this Z28 was ordered. The
OEM door panels are in very good condition and the driver's side
features and interior control for the side mirror. The vinyl
"Strato bucket" seats with adjustable headrests are unique to 1970
and they are in great shape as well as being comfortable. Between
the seats is a center console with armrest/storage box containing
the owner's manual and a Hurst shifter with a steel ball and
reverse lockout. The black dash is in excellent condition with no
cracks or warping. The dash houses gauges for fuel, amps, and temp
as well as a 150mph speedometer, tachometer, and clock - ALL of
which work. Also in the dash are a working Delco OEM replacement
push-button AM radio and climate controls with hot heat and a
working fan. The driver is treated to a correct 3-spoke steering
wheel with red, white, and blue Chevy logo on the working horn
button. The rear seat consists of a bench back and two bucket
bottoms due to the large transmission tunnel running through the
center. Overhead is a tight vinyl headliner and a pair of visors.
Covering the floor is good quality hook and loop carpet with black
vinyl floormats keeping it looking nice. When you open the trunk
you'll find a basic splatter-paint finish and nothing else but a
bias-ply spare with factory jack. If you're looking for a
first-class second generation Camaro, then stop right there and
take a long look at this beauty! This is a California-born car with
a numbers-matching drive-train, a freeway gear, and paint interior
presenting just as originally ordered - it literally checks ALL the
boxes! Watch the video, look at the photos, then give us a call
before someone else beats you to it - cars like this one don't come
around often!
