Vehicle Description
This 1949 Ford F-1 Pickup Truck has southern history and is a great
looking restomod truck. When World War II ended in 1945, the
American automakers, including the Ford Motor Company, started
again producing vehicles for the general public. However, many of
the early post-war cars and trucks were, at best, dressed up early
40s models. For Ford, new truck designs came in 1948 when the
company launched its "F-Series" trucks, which are still going
strong today and one of the best-selling trucks of all time. Little
changed from the previous year on the 1949 F-1, though the grilles
were no longer painted red. Since many pickups at the time were
"work trucks," they were pretty spartan which is why many of them
have become beneficiaries of restomod treatment. With a restomod,
like this one, the truck gets a stronger engine and upgraded
creature comforts, many of which were not available when the truck
was new. Restomod trucks have been growing in popularity over the
past few year and they are continuing to generate more and more
buzz as the years go on. This particular '49 Ford F-1 Restomod
comes to us from a southern-based collector who owned the truck for
the past 15+ years. A 305 Cubic Inch V8 engine paired with an
Edelbrock Single 4 barrel carburetor sends power to the rear
wheels. The 305 V8 is hooked up to an Automatic Transmission
ensuring that just about anybody can take this truck for a spin.
The 305 V8 also features several performance upgrades including an
aluminum intake manifold and HEI ignition system. Dual exhaust
gives this Ford Pickup a nice throaty sound. Being that this F1
Truck is a restomod, it's loaded with options! With Power Front
Disc Brakes, bringing this Restomod Pickup to a full stop is
simple. This Ford Pickup is also equipped with power steering so
that you can get in and out of tight spaces with ease. The exterior
on this '49 F1 has been refinished in a custom Light Blue paint
scheme that helps you stand out in a crowd. Riding on radial tires
wrapped around polished alloy wheels with spinner center caps, this
classic Ford truck has a great look and even better ride. The
custom interior on this truck looks great! The bench seat,
headliner, and door panels have all been reupholstered in a
tasteful grey cloth. The steering wheel is an upgraded woodgrain
Grant Grand Touring model and the upgraded steering column has tilt
steering so that you can get in and out of the truck much easier.
You'll be able to listen to all of your tunes while cruising since
the entertainment system has been upgraded to an AM/FM/CD Sony
System. The instrumentation has been upgraded to VDO gauges,
including a 120 MPH Speedometer, volt gauge, temperature gauge, oil
pressure gauge, and fuel gauge. This 1949 F1 Restomod also features
air conditioning with the vents mounted neatly under the dash.
Whether you're looking to add to your existing collection or you
are buying your very first classic pickup truck, this 1949 Ford F-1
Pickup Truck would make an excellent choice. Give us a call
