This 1951 Ford F-1 was built to give you everything you want. The
classic lines are positively radiant in the sleek modern paint. The
leather-lined A/C interior is exceptionally comfy. And the upgraded
frame, modern front end, and overdrive transmission let you
comfortably enjoy the V8 power to the fullest.
This truck has the kind of backstory we all want on a unique
machine. We were told the current owner bought it in 1970 and sold
it in 1976. He then bought it back from the same gentleman he sold
it to in 2012. So you're looking at both long-term care and someone
who recaptured "the one that got away." That means this was quite
personal when this Ford was given a multi-year restoration that was
completed in 2014. In fact, the care is a continuing theme that
included a full professional respray of the Charcoal Gray paint
this year! It's a professional application with a show-level
high-gloss shine. Plus, the clean glass, glossy wood on the bed,
and nice brightwork make for an all-around quality classic. The
pickup also has some cool upgrades such as a flush rear pan, large
dual exhaust tips, and smoother lines with the fuel filler moved to
the bed. The whole truck wants to show you it's a respected classic
and a custom cruiser. And we think that message comes together
perfectly on the iconic Cragar SS wheels with a bright polished
style and awesome sporty stance.
The interior does a good job of mixing its vintage style with a
modern flair. For example, you still get a bench seat, but now it
has individual contouring, plenty of cushioning, and is finished in
supple leather. The matching two-tone door panels, smooth dash, and
plush carpets make for an overall inviting style. And it's easy to
stay comfortable thanks to the cold-blowing R134a air conditioning,
power windows, and an AM/FM/iPod stereo. It's also a well-done
driver's package with a sports steering wheel, an Ididit tilt
steering column, and classic-style AutoMeter gauges with speedo and
tach.
The engine bay continues this truck's custom style. The smooth
black inner walls showcase the polished components of the V8 in the
middle. At the heart is a Chevy 283 cubic-inch V8. We like the GM
addition in a Ford like this because these hardy small blocks love
upgrades. This one includes a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an
Edelbrock aluminum intake, and shorty headers feeding the
sweet-sounding dual exhaust and Flowmaster resonator mufflers. As
you look underneath, you'll spot the strong TCI chassis and an
upgraded Mustang II-style front end with tubular A-arms. It makes
for a stronger and more confident feeling on the road. And the
four-speed automatic transmission has overdrive to make it great
for trips near or far. Add in power steering, power brakes, Wilwood
front discs, and wide BF Goodrich T/A, and it makes for an awesome
driver's classic.
The sale comes complete with terrific paperwork, including build
receipts, maintenance records, title documentation, a dyno sheet,
and restoration photos. This is a passion project that created a
show-worthy and thoughtful custom. So don't miss this unique full
package. Call today!!!
