1970 Plymouth GTX Coupe, 8-cyl. 440cid/375hp 4bbl Hi-Performance.
Ram Air induction hood. A new -for-1970 crankshaft (still
forged-steel, but heavier duty) & new forged connecting rods.
External balancing was achieved via a new vibration damper and
flywheel (4 speed) or this car an automatic (torque converter) were
used. Moly-rings & cast pistons. A dual-breaker (dual points)
distributor provided spark, and low-restriction exhaust manifolds
to create back flow pressure - building the compression in the
block. 727 auto-flight automatic transmission. Heavy-duty 8�-inch
rear end with 3.23 gears was standard, and Sure Grip (limited-slip)
optional. An extra-cost A36 Performance Axle package for the 727
included 3.55 rear gears, a Sure Grip differential, a seven-blade
torque-drive fan, and a 26-inch high-performance radiator with fan
shroud. Plymouth regained its third-place ranking in 1970, with one
of the cars being the GTX - with a new designed grille, hood,
fenders and rear panel. 1970 was the pinnacle of the muscle car
wars. A blackout hood & air-grabber scoop. Front disc brakes, heavy
duty Sure-Grip differential, Super Trak Pack suspension. Dual
exhaust, a member of Plymouth's high-profile Rapid Transit System
for 1970. 70 new features: more menacing look to ring. The
reimagined grille made the nose look like it was wearing racing
goggles. Lime Light (J5) Green paint. Excellent body fit lines and
gaps. Beautiful chrome trim & emblems. Simulated air intakes on
edge signed rear quarter panels, reflective side stripes, on this
GTX Black cleverly terminated in them. The rear panel was blacked
out and housed slotted taillamps. Black Velvet (X9) interior - 2
texture, 3 color tones beautiful upscale high-back bucket seat
interior w /Rallye instrument cluster, a round 150-mph speedometer
and gauges, seat centers are fabric w buttons, surrounded by
quality vinyl. Wood grain dash face & accents throughout.
Tachometer. The unibody platform got some undercarriage
reinforcements and extra-heavy-duty suspension, featuring
.92-inch-thick torsion bars in front plus an anti-roll bar, and
leaf springs in the rear with six leaves on the left, five and two
half-leaves on the right. Heavy-duty 11-inch drum brakes. F70-14
tires (F60-15 optional) on factory mag wheels. Disclaimer: this
vehicle is missing the trim tag. While we do our best to provide
