Vehicle Description
Wearing a very distinctive and rarely seen color draped over its
exterior, this 1993 Chevrolet Corvette 40th Anniversary convertible
is an ultra-sharp representative of Chevy's American sports car in
special edition, fourth generation form. Hard as it may be to
believe, this car has only logged a scant 20,000 miles over the
years, but a closer inspection of its unusually fresh appearance
will remedy any skepticism you might have about that figure.
Running as good as it looks, it will arrive in its next owner's
garage with a reproduction build sheet on board to document the
array of top tier components it received before leaving the
assembly line.
Because of the model's unflagging popularity, it's not all that
uncommon to see Corvettes from this era on the road from time to
time, but rarely are they dressed like this one. Its Ruby Red
Metallic paint is an eye-catching shade of burgundy and, along with
a pair of commemorative emblems that grace the car's front fenders,
comes via the car's special edition, 40th Anniversary status. As a
member of the model's fourth generation, it has a sleeker
appearance than its predecessors and its exterior is constructed of
much more durable components. You'd probably picture yourself
driving an open-air beauty like this with just the blue sky above
you, but should those skies ever darken, the accompanying maroon
cloth convertible top is also in great shape and locks into
position nicely.
Climb inside, and you'll find a matching maroon interior whose
stock condition is on a par with what's on display outside the
doors. Glance around the cockpit and you'll see no issues to be
concerned about - there are no cracks on the dash cap, the door
panels show no discoloration and are still properly aligned and
there's surprisingly little wear on the bolsters of the leather
bucket seats. Even the carpeting below still has its original deep
coloring. The air conditioning system blows strong and cold and is
up to the challenge of keeping you comfortable on warmer days.
Convenience features include cruise control, as well as power
windows, door locks and mirrors.
You'll be impressed at just how smoothly the hood raises and lowers
- its shocks still work as well as they did when this car was new.
Everything below remains in very clean stock configuration, with a
fuel-injected 5.7-liter LT1 V8 at the center of the compartment
that's surrounded by fresh hoses and properly routed wiring. With
so few miles under its belt, the engine is only a little way past
the break in stage and it fires right up on cue as it pairs with a
4-speed automatic transmission that provides slip-free shifts. Ever
since the first 'Vette rolled off the line some 70 years ago, Chevy
has equipped the model with nimble handling and this '93 is
certainly no exception - it features independent suspension at both
ends which, paired with its low center of gravity, make it an
excellent corner carver. When it comes time to bring it to a stop,
4-wheel anti-lock power disc brakes with aluminum calipers get the
job done in a hurry. This great looking Chevy rolls on a set of
very clean 17" stock wheels that are wrapped with Firestone
Firehawk tires with plenty of tread left.
With its unusually clean condition pairing with special edition
collectability, this 1993 Chevrolet Corvette 40th Anniversary
convertible would be a great addition to any enthusiast's garage.
