Vehicle Description
1976 Jeep CJ-7 - 5.7L Tuned Port Injection V8 - 700R4 Automatic
Transmission - Fiberglass Body - Full Roll Cage - Ford 9 Rear End -
Dana 30 Front - Blue Exterior - Black Interior Featured here is an
amazing custom-built Jeep assembled with one intention, off-road
performance! Based on a 1976 Jeep CJ-7, this build has no shortage
of high-performance upgrades and heavy-duty fabrications. The stock
steel body that is often plagued with rust issues has been replaced
with a fiberglass body with a custom flip-up front end. The body
has been painted a deep blue and the finish was polished to a nice
luster. Other exterior upgrades include chrome rear-view mirrors,
stainless bumpers, LED trail lights, and bumper-mounted
high-intensity driving lights. Under the hood, a Chevrolet Tuned
Port Injection 5.7-liter V8 now replaces the original AMC Jeep
powerplant. This fuel-injected V8 breathes through a set of Hooker
fender exit headers and flows through a dual exhaust with a set of
Flowmaster mufflers. A GM Performance HD ignition with GM Soft
Touch Rev Limiter fires the combustion and this hot setup stays
cool with an aluminum radiator equipped with a custom-fabricated
fan shroud and 6-bladed flex fan. Power is transferred through a
700R4 4-speed automatic lightly modified with B&M transmission
performance parts. Underneath the stock frame has been updated with
a lift kit made up of HD leaf springs and shackles with
polyurethane bushings. A full roll cage not only protects the
passengers and driver but also firms up the stock chassis. The
steering box is reinforced with a bolt-on brace and the spring
U-bolts are protected with skid plates and both differentials have
had heavy-duty anti-roll braces fabricated to keep the axles
planted and stable. The front axle has been replaced with Dana 30
with an air locker and Warner manual locking hubs and the rear axle
is a Ford 9 unit. Sky Jacker adjustable shocks are installed out
back with dual front shocks up front with custom fabricated mounts.
This Jeep features power brakes with front disc and rear drums and
power steering. All the brake and fuel lines are brand new and
mounted in a manner that protects them from trail impact. Large 17
XD alloy wheels are fitted with oversized Nitto Terra Grabber All
Terrain Radial Tires providing additional lift and ground
clearance. Inside the cockpit of this Jeep features four Kirkey
Racing seats all equipped with RCI and Diest safety harnesses and
are mounted securely to the rollbar to keep the riders safely
planted inside. A custom dashboard features AutoMeter gauges
monitoring fuel level, fuel pressure, water temperature,
transmission temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. An AutoMeter
speedometer replaces the stock unit in the dash and a Sport Comp
Monster tachometer with shift light is mounted near the steering
column on the roll bar. The factory heater system is in place with
controls mounted in the dash. A Grant steering wheel sits at the
top of a tilt steering column and the gear selection is provided by
a Hurst Quarter Stick shifter. The trail tunes come from a dash
Pioneer AM/FM/CD player that plays through a set of four speakers.
Owning a Jeep is unlike any other special vehicle ownership
experience. You get to feel the wind in your hair and the sun in
your face like a convertible, but you are not limited to the roads!
You can explore two tracks and dune trails off the beaten path,
unlike other traditional classic cars. This Jeep also possesses the
power and thunder you get from a muscle car ownership. It has also
been said while a clean Jeep looks great sitting at a car show,
they may even look a little better and covered with a little trail
mud after an afternoon adventure out in the woods or even cruising
the beach. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific
questions. Thank you for looking.
