-Yellow with Black/Yellow houndstooth interior and Black Carpeting,
1.7 liter Flat 4 cylinder air cooled engine, 5-speed side shift
gearbox.
Jointly developed by Porsche and Volkswagen and built by VW, the
Porsche 914 was the first mass-market mid-engine sports car. All
914s were equipped with a one-piece lift-off Targa roof. The
standard engine through 1973 was the air-cooled, 1.7-liter
flat-four from the Volkswagen Type 4 (411/412 models), paired with
a five-speed manual transmission. The 914 became one of Porsche's
most successful sports cars, with about 115,000 four-cylinder
models made.
Factory options include, 4-wheel disc brakes, front and rear sway
bars, 3 point seat belts, front & rear chrome bumpers. This 914 has
also been upgraded with the following; Stainless steel brake lines,
Minilite wheels, headers and a supertrapp muffler. A wonderful open
air driving experience coupled with the balance of mid-engine
placement and a lightweight chassis make the 914 a great all-around
usable sports car. Additionally, having ample front & rear storage
for luggage as well as Targa top, the 914 is a wonderful open air
sports car for use around town, weekend road trips as well as being
eligible for various vintage tour-rally events.
