The Rallye replaced the R/T, this was the top dog Dodge of 1972. We
just purchased 3 cars from the estate of a collector. Reportedly
this car went through a $90,000 rotisserie restoration. It is a
high-quality car: fit, finish and function! #s match motor.
EXTERIOR: This is a sexy looking car! Great lines, eye popping
color and stripes. The fit and finish is amazing, it is really
straight. The panels fit precisely, I don't see any rust or damage.
Factory the power bulge scooped hood and sport mirrors. The Top
Banana Yellow paint is polished smooth like glass. Cool looking
strobe stripe decals on each side. The vinyl top is replaced. All
the glass is new. Up front the grill is restored, bumper, bezels,
rubber fillers are mint. The rear bumper is new. The jambs are
painted slick, weather strips and seals were replaced.
INTERIOR: It is one of the nicest restored interiors I've seen. All
the big items are restored, and all the little pieces look like
new. Everything fits right. It has a new dash pad with factory
speakers at each corner. It has Rallye gauges. All the wood grain,
the heater control knobs, the vents factory AM-FM radio are mint.
Even the glove box and ashtray look like new. The steering wheel is
not worn. The center console and slap stick shifter arm like new.
Seats have good cushions and are reupholstered with no wrinkles.
All the side panel plastic trim is excellent. The headliner is
excellent, dome light works. Carpet was replaced.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine compartment is pristine. # match 340
motor has a performance rebuild. Upgraded with Edelbrock aluminum
heads, Weiand intake, Edelbrock carb with electric choke and a set
of coated headers. All the components look fresh and properly
installed. It features power steering and power brakes. Runs cool
with an aluminum water pump. The radiator, shroud, and clutch fan
look new. The engine bay is detailed and painted gloss yellow.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and jamb are glossy. Clean
metal inside, no rust or patches that I found. It's all been
painted yellow. New mat, weatherstrip, and seat insulation.
UNDERSIDE: The front end has been completely rebuilt. All the
bushings, ball joints, steering components etc. Upgraded with gas
shocks at all 4 corners. In back the springs and bushings have been
replaced. The fuel system including the tank was replaced. Custom
made dual exhaust with welded joints, cross over pipe Superflow
mufflers and the correct square tips going out through the valance.
The brakes have been redone. It has disc in front, the e-brake
assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it's spotless. The
casting codes and date are correct, the matching Vin number is
stamped by the oil pan. The correct 727 Torqueflite automatic was
rebuilt. In back is a restored 8 3/4 rear end with 3.55 gears. The
metal floors and frame rails appear to be rock solid. They have
been prepped and given a light undercoat.
Nowhere near my most expensive car but it is one of my nicest! Fit,
finish, and function are excellent. It's a good looker too.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
