This 1976 International Scout II is a very clean and very solid
well built Scout that spent its life in Oregon. The last owner had
most of the work done by a custom 4x4 shop in Oregon and he also
did some of the work himself. It was built to be a weekend diver
that was capable of being taken off road. They did a really nice
job on this rig with a lot of time, money, and thought put into the
build. The body is very clean and straight. It was repainted some
time ago in the color of white and the paint still looks nice. It
has custom front and rear bumpers and the rear bumper has a tire
carrier. The front bumper is a winch bumper equipped with a Warn
8274 winch. The underside is really clean and solid and the all of
the cab mounts, floors, and rockers are solid. We found no rust
issues with this Scout.
The interior is pretty basic as most scout interiors are. The
inside was all bed-lined to keep it rust free and for easy cleanup.
The seats were done in a marine vinyl material to keep them
waterproof and provide easy cleanup as well. It has a full custom
roll cage that is tied into the frame for extra safety. The
headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals are all
working. The gauges all work. The heat and windshield wipers work
but the horn is not working.
Mechanically this truck is excellent!!!Nearly everything has been
replaced or rebuilt. The engine is a 5.7L Vortec V8 that was fully
rebuilt and has around 5,000 miles on it based on our conversation
with the last owner. It runs super strong with no issues that we
found. It has an Edelbrock Aluminum Intake, Stage 3 Comp Cam,
Headers with dual exhaust, HEI ignition, Fitech Fuel Injection,
full serpentine belt system, and dual battery system. The
transmission is the Turbo 400 automatic that shifts nice and it is
mated to the np205 transfer case with a twin stick kit. The 4WD
works like it should. It has new front and rear driveshafts with
double cardan u-joints. The rear axle is a Dana 70 with 4.56 gears
and a locker. The front axle is a Dana 60 Kingpin with 4.56 gears.
It has a full custom spring over axle lift with new springs,
shackle reversal kit, and custom shock mounts. The lift is really
done well and it rides great!! It also has 4 Wheel Power Disc
brakes that were all recently gone through. This is a super cool
Scout that is built to last.
