Vehicle Description
1981 DELOREAN DMC12
Why This Car Is Special
Back in time, the DeLorean DMC-12 was a dream of a man named John
DeLorean. This great iconic classic car was most famous for its
role in Back to the Future, a 1985 American comedic science fiction
film.
It was the only car produced by the DeLorean Motor Company (DMC)
and took six years to design and engineer and was built from
scratch with the Giorgio Giugiaro-designed body that had all the
right lines as a low and wide presence that was only trumped by its
gullwing doors.
We have a super-low milage (shows under 25k miles on the
speedometer} first year 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 with the VIN # ending
in #1022 which the factory started stamping at 500, so it's the 522
one built. It is like-new with everything like it came with and
also having over 14 pages of receipts showing everything that was
restored and added including electric steering.
This is not your run-of-the-mill DeLorean you might see on the
internet for sale, but one of the finest you will see. You will not
find a better one!

Mechanical
Our DeLorean is a rear engine car and it looks as it did when it
was new with most all parts touched, serviced, or replaced in the
engine compartment and electric power steering added as well.
It has the original fuel-injected 2.8-liter V6 engine, the chassis
that was developed at Lotus, nimble fully-independent suspension,
and four-wheel disc brakes that makes it quite a fun car to
drive.
Add to that the Air Conditioning, Power Brakes, Four Wheel Disc
Brakes, Independent w/MacPherson struts, coil springs, and the
Five-speed manual transmission.
Interior
Inside is a well-preserved gray leather cockpit designed around the
driver. You get great bucket seats, a factory three-spoke sports
steering, full factory gauge package, high center console with the
5-speed manual shifter, power windows, tilt steering column,
electric rear defogger, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and factory air
conditioning.
Exterior
The body is made out of stainless steel for and ours has a great
look and has always been cared for correctly. The body panels are
strait and even with an expert fit, and it has those exotic looking
famous gullwing doors.
It all looks right and correct on this survivor from the
turbine-style wheels, to the grooved hood, to the factory original
Turbine-style wheels and Black sidewall tires.
