Vehicle Description
Known as "Shadow," this killer 1954 Chevrolet custom pickup is
packing a built LS2 V8 with 630hp and rides on an Art Morrison
chassis. Elden Cooper's vision was to build the ultimate classic
pickup while keeping the iconic factory appearance. MetalWorks
Classic Auto Restoration, located in Eugene, OR, brought the vision
to life. Countless hours and dollars were invested in the 4-year
build, which was completed in May 2023. The original factory
5-window body was outfitted with a custom tailgate and roll pan to
give it a slightly custom touch. The sheet metal is extremely
straight with excellent panel fitment throughout. It was refinished
in Gray Metallic and the exterior trim was refinished in black
Cerakote. The deep gloss paint was recently detailed to a
show-quality shine. Some of the custom exterior appointments
include all-new tinted glass, dual mirrors, modified front bumper,
custom 3100 badging, rear fender gas filler cap and LED taillights.
The smooth rear bed inner panels frame a new oak floor with black
runners. It rolls on custom 18-inch Boze forged "Shifter" gunmetal
wheels with Nitto NT555 G2 tires. The attention to detail was
brought from the exterior into the interior by Jon Lind Interiors,
located in Springfield, OR. The smoothed dash was painted and the
cabin was treated to insulation before assembly. The custom
headliner, kicker panels, door panels, console and bucket seats
were treated to black and gray leather upholstery. Some of the
interior custom appointments include the rearview mirror, Dakota
Digital HDX gauges, dash vents, Flaming River tilt steering column
and padded steering wheel, Lokar shifter, power windows, and a
Vintage Air system. The waterfall-designed console houses the
Alpine multimedia audio system with Bluetooth. The JL Audio
amplifier powers the Alpine kicker panel speakers and JL Audio
subwoofers for a premium sound experience. The engine compartment
is highly detailed throughout. The smoothed firewall, inner fenders
and radiator support was painted. It's powered by a Ross Automotive
Machine-built LS2 6.0-liter V8 engine that dyno-tested at 630hp.
The engine was built with many high-performance internal parts.
It's equipped with a Holley aluminum intake and Edelbrock Pro-Flow
4 fuel injection management system. The engine was dressed with a
March Serpentine pulley system, orange Chevrolet valve covers and
air cleaner. Some other upgrades include a new American Wiring
harness, MSD ignition system, high-torque mini starter, RainGear
electric wiper motor and Optima yellow-top battery. The engine is
cooled by a Champion aluminum radiator and shroud with an electric
fan. The engine breathes through Ultimate headers and a 2.5-inch
Flowmaster dual-exhaust system with electric cutouts. The engine is
coupled to a new TCI 4L80E automatic transmission that's rated up
to 775hp and a Streetfighter stall converter. The custom aluminum
driveshaft spins the Strange 9-inch posi-traction rear end with
31-spline axles and 3.70 gears. The undercarriage is also highly
detailed throughout. The body sits on an Art Morrison
low-ride-height chassis. It's equipped with power rack & pinion
steering. The independent front suspension consists of Sport IFS
tubular A-arms with Strange coilover shocks, Pro drop spindles and
front sway bar. The triangulated 4-bar rear suspension consists of
Strange coilovers and rear sway bar. The frame-mounted
dual-reservoir master brake cylinder assists the Wilwood Pro Series
4-wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. The fuel is
stored in a Rick's Stainless tank. This vehicle has been recently
serviced and detailed, which is documented with an invoice that is
included. From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
