Vehicle Description
Completed in 2005, this custom version of a 1941 Willys Americar
Pro-Street Coupe is a modernized hot rod with customization and
power to spare. It is powered by a Merkel Racing Engines 400ci V8
Chevrolet engine with Gen 2 fuel injection and twin T36 turbos,
mated to a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission with manual valve
body and transmission brake. The driveline is a Mark Williams unit
connected to a 9-inch rear axle. The car is equipped with a Hurst
quarter-stick shifter with line lock and Wilwood disc brakes. The
car rests on an Art Morrison chassis with a full roll cage. The
coupe's exterior is professionally finished by Splatter House
Graphics of Long Island, NY, in an eye-catching two-tone
pearlescent Magic Blue above Cortez Blue/Purple highlighted by
metallic lime-green flames that start at the apex of the hood and
blaze down the side to the rear wheel opening. Inconspicuously
airbrushed toward the lower portion of each exterior door are three
skulls silhouetted against the dark purple/blue background, as well
as another larger skull airbrushed on the underside of the hood,
letting you know this Pro-Street coupe means business. The custom
interior is by Pat Orellano and is done in shades of blue, purple
and green in Symphony vinyl and suede with German velour carpeting
to match the exterior colors. The interior sports a RacePak dash,
power windows and Simpson 5-point safety belts for both the driver
and passenger. The fiberglass body sports handle-less suicide doors
that are controlled by push-button remote control. Highlighting the
finish are polished Colorado Custom wheels wrapped in Continental
ContiTouring Contact tires. A set of receipts documenting the build
will come with the car. **TITLED AS 2005 ASVE WILLYS 41**
