The 1957 model of Ford's iconic Thunderbird was by far the most
popular Thunderbird model up until that point, with Ford producing
21,380. Of those 21,380 Thunderbirds, Ford produced 1,499 "E-Birds"
which are those with an E-Code VIN number meaning that they came
with Ford's 312 Cubic Inch V8 engine paired with Dual 4 Barrel
Carburetors. The E-Birds with their upgraded power plant produced
270 horsepower, which was significantly more horsepower than the
standard Thunderbird V8s. This particular E-Code. The Dual
Carburetor 312 V8 is mated up to a smooth shifting Ford-O-Matic
Automatic Transmission ensuring that anybody can drive this
fabulous Baby Bird. This 57 Thunderbird is also equipped with Power
Steering and Power Brakes, which makes this E-Bird a much nicer car
to drive. Dual Exhaust gives this T-Bird a nice throaty sound. The
rear wheel wells are equipped with color matching fender skirts.
The exterior on this stunning Thunderbird has been refinished in
the car's original color, Thunderbird Bronze, and the paintwork
shows extraordinarily well. The interior on this E-Bird is
absolutely stunning!
EXTERIOR: Restored in the correct factory color of Thunderbird
Bronze. The paint is fantastic with a deep shine and mirror like
reflection. The fit and finish of the body panels is superb! The
white convertible top is nice. All the chrome trim and bright work
is shiny and straight around the car.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This 312 dual 4v runs great, it has a bit of a
growl like a muscle car. The engine compartment is show quality
with attention to the smallest detail.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It looks like it would have the day it rolled
off the assembly line.
UNDERSIDE: The body was lifted off the frame for a complete
restoration. The underbody is all clean metal painted "Thunderbird
Bronze". The chassis was prepped and painted gloss black. The front
end steering and suspension was rebuilt. Shocks were replaced all
around. Exhaust looks good and it exits through the bumper. Fuel
tank and lines were replaced. Looking up at the motor it is clean.
The u-joints were replaced. It has a few years on it but it looks
like every component was rebuilt or replaced at the time of
restoration.
This car runs and drives fantastic and is priced at a fraction of
what it would cost to restore to this level. Call 314-346-6039 to
