This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Convertible is a beautifully
restored, mild custom convertible that is ready for some serious
summer cruising! Chevrolet introduced its passenger car line to the
public in September 1971, including its intermediate-sized Chevelle
line which at that time was considered the second-most popular car
in America. While the base-model Chevelle was a fantastic,
affordable people-mover, the Malibu was the plusher, more
luxurious, stepped-up model, with the convertible being the most
expensive non-wagon in the line. The exteriors featured a bit more
trim and the interiors were elevated beyond the base models.
Between 1971 and 1972, not much changed with regards to the styling
of the Chevelle. Most notably, the '72 Chevelles received a new
grille with an updated texture that was divided by two evenly
spaced moldings which gave a 3-tiered look. The marker lights were
also updated to include a single one-piece lens that wrapped around
from the front to the side. This particular '72 Malibu comes to us
from southern snowbird who kept the car as a fun weekend cruiser
and meticulously maintained it throughout his ownership. Powering
this 1972 Malibu Convertible is an upgraded 350 Cubic Inch V8
engine paired with a Holley Single 4 Barrel Carburetor that sits
atop an aluminum intake. The NOM 350 V8 is hooked up to a TH350
Automatic Transmission that ensures anybody can take this gorgeous
convertible for a spin. This 1972 Chevelle Malibu has great
options! With power steering, getting in and out of those tight
spaces at the local car show is easy. Power front disc brakes make
it simple to bring this Chevelle to a stop especially with all that
muscle under the hood. The white vinyl power convertible top is in
wonderful condition and it goes up and down with the simple flick
of a switch. The exterior of this Malibu has been beautifully
refinished in a custom Teal Blue Metallic basecoat/clearcoat with
silver SS-style racing stripes adorning the hood and decklid.
Riding on American Racing Rims and BFGoodrich Radial T/A Tires,
this Chevelle Convertible has a great look and even better ride.
The interior on this Malibu is stunning! The front and rear bench
seats have been reupholstered in black vinyl with a stock
appearance. The dash, door panels, and steering wheel all appear to
be in their stock configuration as well. The dash is equipped with
a 120 MPH speedometer, fuel gauge, and upgrade Alpine Entertainment
System so that you can listen to all of your tunes while cruising
down the road. Autometer underdash mounted oil pressure,
temperature, volt, and amp gauges as well as a Super Pro 8,000 RPM
tachometer have been added so that you can get even more
information from your rig. Whether you're looking to purchase your
very first classic muscle car or your garage is full of them, this
1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Convertible would make an excellent
choice. Give us a call today!
