The classic truck market is one that has been on the rise in recent
years. Among the most popular classic pickups are the 1967-1972
Chevy/GMC short bed pickups. Thanks to their timeless and classic
styling, these trucks have captured the hearts of collectors and
classic truck enthusiasts alike. When you pair this classic styling
and a modern drivetrain with conveniences, then you really have
something special. That is exactly what we have here in this
excellent 1972 GMC 1500 Resto-Mod. This classic pickup benefits
from a 2 year old frame-off restoration that still presents
extremely well. Other than the factory cab and frame, every body
panel on this truck was replaced with brand new steel during the
restoration including the bed. The two-tone Grey and White exterior
shines very well and is in overall excellent condition. The
exterior is complimented nicely by its factory-style faux wood
lower body trim, factory chrome and stainless trim and
factory-style steel wheels with chrome beauty rings and hubcaps.
The Dark Green vinyl interior is in excellent condition throughout
and features a period correct Grande Sierra Green and White
houndstooth bench seat. Powering this beautiful GMC pickup is a Gen
3, 4.8 liter LS V8 backed by a 700R4 4-speed automatic
transmission. Both the engine and transmission perform very well
with no issue. This truck delivers that great V8 rumble thanks to
the LS engine breathing through the custom true dual exhaust and a
set of aftermarket mufflers. During the restoration, the entirety
of the suspension was replaced with all new components which allows
the GMC to handle the road with ease. Aiding to the ease of driving
is the power steering and power front disc brakes. This GMC
Resto-Mod is nicely equipped with features such as: power steering,
power front disc brakes, Vintage Air in-dash air conditioning,
digital gauges w/ GPS speedometer, variable speed wipers, AM/FM
stereo (in-op), sliding glass rear window, and heater/defrost. If
you are in the market for a turn-key ready classic pickup truck
that runs and drive better than it did new and would present very
well at your local cruise-in or car show, then you will want to
take a very close look at this 1972 GMC 1500 Resto-Mod.
