Vehicle Description
Nothing oozes success quite like a Rolls-Royce. This car was
originally delivered to a Canadian owner and is one of 1,234
examples of the Corniche II made between 1986 and 1989. This
example was manufactured in Rolls-Royce's London, England factory
on October 15, 1986 and spent all of its life in underground
parking storage. It underwent a repaint in 1998.
Dressed in Light Oyster Metallic (code 0438) with a contrasting
brown, power leather top, the car's paint and trim are in overall
very good order and the top is in fine form. There is some grazing
in thee paint on the top of the front fenders but presentable
overall. The bodywork is straight and solid and the body-colored
and chrome bumpers fit tightly to the body. The engine bay is very
tidy and the cargo area is in fine shape. Mulliner Park Ward is the
coachmaker.
This big convertible rolls on Avon Turbosteel 70 white-stripe
radials, size 235/70R15 at every corner. Each one is mounted on a
steel wheel and topped with a full, factory wheel cover. The tires
and wheels are all in very good order.
Under the forward-hinted hood is Rolls-Royce's famous 6.75L OHV V-8
engine (code L410), generating "sufficient" horsepower. Backing
this motor is a three-speed automatic transmission, sourced from
General Motors, a Turbo Hydramatic 400. Driver convenience features
include air-conditioning, power steering, power brakes, cruise
control, power locks, power sideview mirrors, power windows, tilt
steering column, power seats and power antenna. Air conditioning
and power top and windows work right rear windows work from master
controller only.
Inside, the car has dark brown Connolly leather upholstery that is
in overall great condition, with corresponding Wilton wool
carpeting underfoot. Burled wood graces the dashboard and inner
door panels to add some warmth. A two-spoke steering faces the
driver and the instrument panel and inner door liners are in
overall very good condition. Speedo works in km odo is inop. The
center console, with shift lever, look good and there's a
Delco-Bose AM/FM stereo with cassette deck in the dash.
Documentation includes invoice copies for recently completed
repairs. Which included brake work with new brake lines, hoses, new
termostat and cooling sensors, work on power top supply lines and
fresh fluids.
Convertible competition in 1986 included Bentley's Continental and
Mercedes-Benz's 560SL.
