Vehicle Description
Searching for a car that truly has a look of its own? One that
displays an obvious connection to the street rods of the past, but
also has the modern conveniences you'd want for frequent driving?
Then you need to check out this 1999 Plymouth Prowler. To call this
car "clean" would be doing it a disservice - it has only logged
18,000 miles in its entire lifetime and is in absolutely top shape
in every respect. Add to that its matching trailer, which is no
mere "throw-in". It mirrors the graceful curves of the car it
follows and is also in superb condition.
The fact that you don't see many Prowlers on the road these days
should come as no surprise. There were fewer than 12,000 of them
produced during their entire five-year run. The fact that Prowlers
looked nothing like anything else on the road - and, of course,
still don't - was no mere accident, either. From its open wheel
front end to its raised rear fenders, the Prowler's design was
heavily inspired by Chrysler's Design Director Thomas Gale's own
'32 roadster. With its stellar form, this specimen represents its
model well. It's decked out in bright red paint - a fitting shade
for a car with so much curb appeal - that receives protection from
the elements by a professionally-applied ceramic coating and
absolutely radiates freshness. Even upon close inspection,
everything you see is in great shape - the contrasting black canvas
top is unfaded, clear glass surrounds the cabin and both bumpers
are arrow straight and unblemished. Bringing up the rear behind
this memorable ride is a custom trailer that matches its
outstanding condition.
Climb inside this Prowler and you'll be surrounded by a comfortable
black leather interior that features some sharp accents in the form
of nicely applied chrome trim on the steering wheel, dash area and
door panels. An Autometer tachometer is also now perched on the
steering column to keep tabs on revs. This Chrysler's light usage
combines with the attentive care it has received to result in an
unusually fresh driving environment - the pair of bucket seats at
the center of the cockpit present pretty much as they did when this
car first rumbled off the showroom floor and there are no obvious
blemishes to mar the overall impact of the interior. Comfort and
convenience features include air conditioning that blows cold,
cruise control, power door locks, windows and mirrors, a rear
window defogger and an AM/FM/cassette stereo.
This head turning ride is powered by a fuel-injected 3.5-liter DOHC
V6 that resides inside just the ultra-clean engine compartment
you'd expect from a meticulously maintained car like this. The
engine fires right up and idles smoothly, teaming with a 4-speed
automatic transmission to provide strong acceleration. Dual
exhausts leading to aftermarket FloFX mufflers add a nice, throaty
exhaust note. With independent suspension at both ends, the Prowler
is a force to contend with on the skidpad - in fact this '99 was
neck and neck with the industry leaders in that category when it
was released. A set of chrome spoked wheels - 17" in front and 20"
in back to add to the Prowler's aggressive, inclined stance - are
wrapped with Continental tires that show plenty of tread and cap
off its singular appearance very nicely.
With its distinctive mixture of vintage and modern visual cues and
absolutely stellar overall condition, this 1999 Plymouth Prowler is
a rare find. Call today!
