Rare and beautiful 1957 Lincoln Continental Mark II Luxury Coupe. In 1957, this was the most expensive domestic produced automobile sold in the United States. Original sticker price was $10,561. These were all built by hand at the Allen Park Body & Assembly facility in Michigan. There were only 444 Mark II's built in 1957. This car is 1 of 98 with factory air-conditioning (the only option available on Mark II's). The A/C does actually work. It blows cool, not ice cold (could probably use a can of freon?). Power steering, power brakes, power windows and power seat came standard on all Mark II's. Equipped with it's original 368 cubic inch (300 horsepower) V8 engine and "Turbo-Drive" 3 speed automatic transmission. This was purchased new from the Fred Jones dealership in Amarillo, Texas - the original owner was Roy Jones. It was sold in 1992 to a gentleman in Oklahoma, who maintained it as part of his collection for 31 years. It was purchased from his estate in October of last year and is being offered for sale now, in Denison, Texas. The body is extremely solid. This car was originally 2 tone green, it was repainted in white a few years ago. Only 64 Mark II's were offered with 2 tone paint and only 4 were offered in 2 tone green. This is an extremely rare car, no doubt. Excellent collectibility - will only continue to climb in value.
