Launched for 1967, Chevrolet's Camaro immediately stole market
share from Ford's Mustang and immediately went on to become one of
America's most popular sporty cars. Contrary to popular belief, the
Camaro and its F-body Pontiac Firebird stablemate were in fact
more-conventional replacements for Chevrolet's rear-engine Corvair,
and not General Motors' response to the success of Ford's Mustang.
Value-priced from just $2,466 for the basic hardtop coupe, the
Camaro was available with virtually every Chevrolet factory option,
including a broad range of powertrain combinations. Standard and
optional features were many, making it possible for buyers to
custom-order a Camaro tailor-made to meet their specific needs and
desires. The Camaro proved to be a very successful gamble for
Chevrolet, with production for the 1967 model year reaching nearly
221,000 vehicles, grabbing significant market share from Ford's
Mustang. The 'RS' Rally Sport option was available on all Camaro
models and brought a decided Grand Touring persona to the new
Chevrolet, featuring hide-away headlights, special taillights, 'RS'
emblems and upgraded trim. The 'SS' Super Sport option package was
also available for performance fans with more special appearance
features, upgraded suspensions, and the powerful new 295 HP RPO L48
350 V-8 engine as standard equipment. Benefiting handsomely from a
ground-up restoration, this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS is powered
by a 295-horsepower, 4-barrel 350 cubic-inch V-8 engine paired with
a Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission. A GM 12-bolt 3:36 rear
axle delivers the power to the street. In addition to the RPO Z22
Rally Sport and Super Sport option packages, this highly equipped,
first-year Camaro is finished in the originally-specified Royal
Plum paint color, accented by a wraparound White SS nose stripe and
White vinyl roof covering. Other desirable features and options
include a tinted windshield and Chevrolet Rally wheels. The
inviting Deluxe Parchment interior features bucket seats with a
center console, a factory tachometer, Gauge Package, and an AM
radio. Ironclad documentation supplied by GM Canada Vintage Vehicle
Services confirms features, options, and original factory data. A
fresh detailing makes this highly equipped and optioned 1967
Chevrolet Camaro a standout. See it for yourself! Call us for
