Vehicle Description
CPR Classic is excited to offer this immaculate 1980 Porsche 911SC
Targa finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior. This
example has traveled just 48,000 miles from new and remains wholly
original including all original paint.
We acquired this 911SC from a long-time CPR Client in Southern
California who owned the car for several years, driving it
sparingly and keeping it in top-level condition. The car arrived at
CPR and was thoroughly inspected, detailed, and serviced.
Mechanically, no stone has been left unturned in regular servicing
and preventative maintenance throughout this car's life. A recent
compression test indicated 204-206 psi across all cylinders and
leakdown numbers of 2-7% across all cylinders.
The exterior paint on this car is in remarkable original condition.
Paint meter readings are available in the gallery. Factory "orange
peel" is consistent across all surfaces and there are no
indications of any post-factory paintwork.
The interior of this 911SC is in wonderfully preserved original
condition. There are no tears or damage present, and only very
minimal stretching in the seat covers. The car retains its original
radio and a perfect original dash with no shrinkage or warping. The
original carpet kit is in excellent condition with no stains or
fraying.
The correct matched Fuchs wheels are original and wrapped in
Michelin Pilot Sport tires. All of the car's exterior trim, glass,
and window frames are free of blemishes and fit properly
throughout.
The car starts and drives wonderfully. The 915 gearbox is strong
with healthy synchros and a properly sorted linkage. The matching
3.0L engine runs very well with excellent low-end torque and
mid-range power. The drivetrain is dry with no oil leaks. The
original factory air conditioning is intact, properly charged, and
works very well.
The car remains entirely unaltered except for a set of Euro H4
headlamps that were purchased and installed by the previous owner.
The original headlamps are boxed and included with the car. Also
included are some original service invoices from the 1980s, current
service receipts, owner's manuals, original dealership brochures
from 1980, original air pump, spare wheel, and tool kit.
If you are in the market for a perfectly sorted air-cooled 911 at a
more affordable price-point than an early 911, this is absolutely
the Porsche for you. This 911SC is ready for thousands of
worry-free miles with its next lucky owner.
