IT'S ALIVE! AUTOMOTIVE is very proud to present this 1974 Chevrolet
Corvette Stingray finished in Mille Miglia Red over a Black
interior and matching Black folding convertible top. This example
was completed at the St. Louis Assembly in March 1974 and sold new
through George Miller Chevrolet in St. Louis, Missouri. Per the
accompanying order form the C3 was originally finished in Corvette
Orange over a Neutral (tan) interior while the added options listed
include power steering, air conditioning, tilt steering wheel,
power windows and more priced out this Stingray at $6,789.50 when
new. While the total number of owners is not documented, the
Corvette was acquired in 1999 by a couple who would cherish the
Corvette for two decades. In 2008, under their ownership, the tired
L82 250hp 5.7L V8 was replaced with a fresh 290hp GM Performance
"crate" engine displacing 350ci with 4-bolt mains. Placed atop the
new 350, is a rebuilt Rochester carburetor feeding the V8 through a
340281 GM intake. Service invoices for removing and replacing the
engine total over $4000.00 and document the odometer reading just
88,018 miles. IT'S ALIVE! acquired the C3 in 2019 from the couple
that purchased it in 1999. Our in-house staff has serviced and
detailed the Corvette from top to bottom.
Today the Corvette presents as the comfortable cruiser that it is,
with striking Mille Miglia Red paint and a plush black interior. A
total of 90,153 miles are displayed on the odometer, a mere 2,135
more than when the engine out service was performed. Supporting
documentation includes the previously mentioned original order form
from George Miller Chevrolet, 1974 Corvette brochure, owner's
manual, original warranty pamphlet and service records from the
previous owner. Just in time for late summer and fall cruising,
this Corvette is an instantly recognizable American classic that
looks fast standing still. If you are the next caretaker of this
