The Camaro first debuted by Chevrolet in 1966 for the 1967 model
year. The intention was to compete directly with the Ford Mustang
during the popular muscle car/pony car era. They had the Corvair
but felt it would fail to keep up with Fords runaway success in the
market. The were produced for 4 distinct generations before the
name was dropped in 2002. That wasn't the end for the Camaro though
because the name was revived for a concept car in 2009 that would
go on to be the 5th generation. This clean 1969 Camaro was the last
year for the 1st gen cars and has been very nicely restored in a
pro touring style. It has been set up to handle anything you throw
at it. The body is painted in a Metallic Blue paint that really
pops out in the sun. The chrome and stainless trim has a nice shine
and is all cleanly mounted in place. The car wears both a front and
rear spoiler and a 2 inch cowl hood for that classic muscle car
side profile. The glass is all in good condition throughout and is
slightly tinted. All of the exterior lights are working properly
with no issues. The gas filler on these cars was originally located
behind the license plate but this one has been rerouted to fill via
a custom chrome locking cap on the rear taillight panel. The car
has a great stance and rides on 17 inch Billet Specialties wheels
with Nitto tires.
If the exterior wasn't enough to grab your attention just wait
until you pop the hood. This classic Camaro is sporting a freshly
built LS7 V8 motor that has less than 1,000 miles on it since being
installed. It cranks out 700 horsepower and dyno sheets can be
provided on request. The engine bay has a show ready appearance
with chrome and billet components everywhere you look. The engine
runs great and has been fitted with a FiTech EFI system. It sounds
great too through the ceramic coated Hooker headers into stainless
steel 2.5 inch dual exhaust. Keeping it running nice and cool is an
aluminum radiator with electric fan, transmission cooler with
electric fan, cool flex hoses, and even an oil cooler. Whether its
road courses, short cruises, or long distance driving this car can
do it all. It has a Detroit Speed suspension set up, Global West
upper control arms and also Detroit Speed mini tubs in the rear.
The brakes are power and all 14 inch drilled/slotted discs with
Baer calipers. It has power rack & pinion steering as well making
it a very comfortable driver. The transmission is a 4L80E automatic
with stall converter that transfers all that power back to the
modified Ford 9 inch positraction rear end with Moser axles. Other
very nice upgrades include the Detroit Speed 18 gallon fuel tank
and the Optima Red top battery that has been relocated into the
trunk in billet mounts.
The interior has been entirely redone in Black and it is clear it
has been very well maintained since completion. It has dual high
back bucket seats with headrests up front and the upholstery
throughout looks great. It has the factory style center console
with horseshoe shifter but it has been modified with power window
controls. It has a very high end stereo system which includes a
custom Autosound receiver with CD changer, RE audio speakers, a
Kicker ZX700-5 amplifier and a Cadence 10 inch subwoofer. Often a
forgotten component on these classics is an Alarm system which this
one does have in place and also incorporates a remote start. The
dash is all painted in a nice gloss Black and topped off with Pro
Comp Ultra-Lite gauges in billet bezels which also includes the
dash mounted tachometer. It has nice Billet AC/Heat controls and
the AC blows cold. In front of the driver sits a nice custom Billet
3 spoke steering wheel wrapped in Black leather.
This is one cool Camaro that someone is going to have a ton of fun
with behind the wheel. The drivetrain was expertly constructed with
all the best components out there and with only 1,000 miles on the
engine is sure to be good to go for many many years to come.
