Description:
This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is powered by a 312ci V8 paired with a
three-speed Fordomatic automatic transmission, and it is finished
in red over red and white vinyl. Equipment includes a red-finished
removable hardtop with porthole windows, a black soft top,
power-assisted brakes, power steering, power-adjustable seats,
Vintage Air air conditioning, a Birdsnest rumble seat, power
windows, an aftermarket AM/FM stereo, chrome bumpers, and parking
lights. This beauty was refurbished under previous ownership.
Interior:
The cabin features a Dial-O-Matic power-adjustable bench seat that
has been reupholstered in red and white vinyl and is accompanied by
a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Modifications
consist of a Birdsnest rumble seat as well as a Vintage Air A/C
system and an aftermarket AM/FM stereo linked with Clarion rear
speakers. Additional amenities include a floor-mounted shifter,
power windows, and a locking glovebox. A tear in the seat
upholstery is documented in the gallery. The three-spoke steering
wheel frames a centrally mounted 140-mph speedometer and
aftermarket gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel
level, and voltage. The five-digit odometer indicates 87 miles, and
total mileage is unknown.
Exterior:
The car left the factory finished in Dusk Rose and is said to have
been repainted its current red during the aforementioned
refurbishment. Equipment includes a red-finished removable hardtop
with porthole windows, a replacement black soft top, a Thunderbird
hood emblem, shaped and chromed front and rear bumpers, fender
vents, bumper-mounted auxiliary parking lights, a fixed antenna,
and slanted tail fins. Exterior blemishes are pointed out in the
image gallery.
Drivetrain:
The D-code 312ci Y-block V8 is topped with a four-barrel carburetor
and was factory rated at 245 horsepower. Power is routed to the
rear wheels via a Fordomatic three-speed automatic transmission.
The 14? steel wheels wear turbine covers and are mounted with
Firestone FR721 whitewall tires. Stopping power is supplied by
power-assisted drum brakes at each corner.
