Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to present this
hot Raspberry Metallic 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix for sale. This
custom sled is rocking a two-tone metallic paint job that gets
attention wherever it goes! For something as eye-catching as this,
one would expect it to have plenty of hidden extras, which it
certainly does. Under the hood is a potent Pontiac 389 CID V8,
which is topped by an Edelbrock 4BBL carb, and dressed up with
aluminum Pontiac valve covers. The big 389 sends its power to the
9-inch Ford rear via a GM TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. The
nicely detailed engine bay shows off its textured, matte-finished
inner fenders, custom Pontiac-logoed air cleaner, and massive,
custom 4-core aluminum radiator with its 16-inch electric cooling
fan. What's harder to notice up front is the additional 12-inch
electric pusher fan for the A/C condenser, and the FlowKooler high
flow water pump. Its custom dual exhaust system gives it a nice
muscle car sound, but not too over the top - after all, the Grand
Prix is a "gentleman's muscle car". More hidden touches abound:
ride and handling improvements include being lowered 2 inches (to
give it a meaner stance and crisper handling), all new brakes (with
discs up front), coilover shocks out back, all new suspension
bushings and bearings, new sway bars, rear control arms, and
performance radial tires wrapping its aluminum American Racing
Torque Thrust wheels. Other key, but unobtrusive improvements
include the coolant temperature gauge hidden in the ashtray's
original location, Vintage Air A/C system (with its cockpit
controls very nicely integrated in the dash), a vintage-style AM/FM
head unit, recovered front bucket seats, MoonEyes tach, custom cup
holder integrated into the center console, and the custom
wood-rimmed steering wheel. The medium brown interior is in very
good shape too, with its original door panels, headliner, carpet,
seat belts, and rear seats: when the front seats were redone,
however, the original vinyl pattern was unavailable, so they were
matched as closely as possible. Altogether, this Grand Prix is a
nicely executed vintage ride that's ready to hit the road and make
no excuses. Don't miss out on this classic - call or email our
