Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is pleased to present this
potent 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. The Chevrolet Monte Carlo is
a two-door coupe that was manufactured and marketed by the
Chevrolet division of General Motors. The Monte Carlo was marketed
as the first "personal luxury car" of the Chevrolet brand.
Introduced for the 1970 model year, the model line was produced
across six generations through the 2007 model year, with a hiatus
from 1989-1994. The Monte Carlo was a closely aligned variant of
the Pontiac Grand Prix through its entire production. Lurking under
the fiberglass cowl hood of this Monte Carlo is a strong small
block 400 V8, which has been bored .030, to 406 CID. The stout 406
is backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission, which sends to twist
to the PosiTrac-equipped 10-bolt rear end. According to its owner,
the drivetrain has only about 2000 miles on it since it was
rebuilt. Options on this 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS include: Air
Conditioning (blows cold but through defrost and floor vents only),
Aluminum Wheels, AM/FM/CD Radio, Cruise Control, Power Steering,
Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Locks (not working), Radial
Tires, and Tilt Steering Wheel.
