Vehicle Description
By 1970, the Chevelle had already captured Chevy enthusiasts hearts
and this year's design and performance changes enhanced their love
for the model. The '70 model year saw an edgier body introduced
with a more squared-up stance in contrast with the curves of the
'69 year-model. Enhancing the SS option, Chevelle owners saw
increased offerings that came with the SS badge. Buyers could
choose from a 396 or 454 cubic inch V8. The SS received a "power
dome" hood, black accented grill and rear bumper insert. The sport
wheels on the SS where equipped with wide-oval tires. There was no
doubt with the introduction of '70 Chevelle SS that this car would
become a legend.
