We are proud to offer this very special and rare Pontiac GTO. There are several key factors that add to the contribute to the provenance of this GTO. First, this car was restored to perfection nearly a decade ago. After 10 years of proper storage and maintenance, this car has barely changed. Secondly, records show this three owner car was once owned by, and part of the collection of Steven Ames of Ames Pontiac Performance, an icon in Pontiac Performance parts. This car was sold by Mrs Joan Ames after his passing in December 2020. Mr Ames was the second owner of this car. Ames Performance remains in business today. The third factor indicates that this 54000+ mile GTO is one of the most highly optioned GTO's ever built which is probably what caught Mr Ames interest.
Other factors include that this car is one of 3140 produced with a 400ci 360hp H.O. engine and THD-400 Automatic Dual Gate shifter. The Meridian Turquois (KK code) paint with Parchment interior is stunning.
This GTO was sold new by Dolman Pontiac of Hawthorne California to a Mr Gary Cave on November 10, 1968.
