Vehicle Description
1978 CHEVROLET EL CAMINO The Chevrolet El Camino was GM's response
to the success of the 1957 Ford Ranchero. The idea of a car-based
light duty pickup or coupe utility had been played around with
prior to World War II but it seemed to have been forgotten until
the 1950s when the success of the "gentleman" pickups like the
Chevy Cameo indicated that the market was ready for an even more
car-like pickup truck. This is no ordinary truck, with its slender
doors and thin seat back add to the roomy interior. This tasteful
El Camino model comes with a standard split-back bench seat. This
year El Camino was redesigned. Its wheelbase was increased from 116
to 117 inches to help provide a smooth, easy ride. It is shorter
and slimmer than the model before, making it easier to manage in
tight traffic and parking spaces. This car is rust free, silver
paint, with a gorgeous red interior with buckets and console, 350
cu in V8, automatic transmission, A/C, power steering power brakes,
tilt steering column, tach and gauges. A true classic you do not
want to miss out on. Come on down to take it for a test drive
today!
