The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile
known as the 'Pony Car'. The Mustang's styling, with its long hood
and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of
competition. The first GEN 1 Mustang was manufactured from 1964-1/2
until 1973 and this fully restored 1965 GT350 Tribute is a stunning
example of the 2+2 model, but with serious mechanical upgrades.
This fastback has won 'Best of Show' trophies at events all over
the southeast. The virtually flawless body was professionally
reshot in 2-stage Calypso Coral (Ford color) w/black stripes.
Accents include 'Shelby' hood, side windows, front apron, rear
spoiler and gas cap. All chrome/stainless pieces are new and custom
door handles have been installed - everything is top-shelf. Coys
'C-67' machined alloys w/spinners mount 17" Riken performance
radial tires. The interior has been reupholstered in black vinyl
and features Pro Touring II bucket seats, Vintage Air, Ididit tilt
column w/Grant wheel, AM/FM sound system, fold down rear seat w/new
hardware and all new weatherstripping. There is also a new cruiser
console and dash pad/carpeting/headliner. Other features include a
carbon-fiber-look gauge pod w/AutoMeter gauges/tach, new tinted
windshield/windows, billet pedals and chrome door striker
plates.
This Mustang was a 'C' code car from the factory - 289ci/2V
Windsor. That engine is gone, replaced with a balanced/blueprinted
302ci HO motor with extensive mechanical upgrades.
