Vehicle Description
With its eye-catching graphics, sculped bodylines and low-slung
stance, the Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am has been a staple of American
performance since its inception. This 1979 Pontiac Trans-Am fits
all of the prior descriptors of what a Trans-Am should be, complete
with a stunning color combination and a massive V8 engine sitting
under the hood. Powered by a giant Oldsmobile 403 C.I. (6.6 Liter)
V8 and breathing through a 4-barrel carburetor, this '79 Trans-Am
is seriously quick. It sounds like it, too. Torque is stomped into
the pavement through the use of a 3-speed automatic transmission,
which allows for smooth cruising as it shifts seamlessly. The
exterior is bathed in a beautiful, correct "24"-code "Atlantis
Blue" metallic paint, which really sparkles in the sun and covers
this Trans-Am's laser-straight bodylines wonderfully. That blue
paint really makes the navy blue & gold "Trans-Am" graphics stand
out, and rest assured, this Trans-Am is sure to gather a crowd
wherever it is parked. In addition, the floors, frame, trunk and
jambs are all in great shape and all present well! Opening the twin
doors reveals a highly-original, exquisite black cloth & vinyl
interior, complete with comfy bench seats, a full center console,
and an original AM/FM/Cassette stereo system! This '79 Trans-Am was
built with plenty of options, including power steering, power
brakes, front disc brakes, factory gauges & working tachometer,
"Dual-Sport" mirrors, a remote driver's mirror, a heater +
defroster, an original AM/FM/Cassette stereo unit, a tilt steering
wheel, a full center console, factory T-Tops, aftermarket rear
speakers, and a sweet-sounding dual exhaust system. The car rides
on a stunning set of 15" Pontiac "Snowflake" patterned wheels over
fat Cooper Cobra RWL tires for optimal grip. This '79 Trans-Am runs
and drives down the freeway like a dream, and with those T-Tops,
you can feel the open air at any time. There aren't too many
Trans-Ams out there that look quite like this one, much less with
the originality and correctness that this one has! It's ready to
torch its tires at the turn of a key, and we'd love to see you
drive it away.
