Eastern Shore Classic Cars is excited to present the hugely
popular, Bertone design, Alfa Romeo 2000 GT Veloce (also known as
2000 GTV). The 2000 series replaced 1750 series in 1971.
Improvements at the time included engine displacement increased to
1962 cc with a change of bore and stroke to 84 mm � 88.5 mm. The
engine produced 132 PS (97 kW; 130 hp) at 5500 rpm. This example
replicates the European version which did not have Fuel injection.
It is fitted is fitted with 2 Weber 45 DCOE carburetors recently
cleaned, with new jets installed. In 1971 the interior trim was
also changed, with the most notable differences being the
introduction of a separate instrument cluster, instead of the
gauges installed in the dash panel in earlier cars. Externally the
2000 GTV is most easily distinguished by the following features:
Grille with horizontal chrome bars, featuring protruding blocks
forming the familiar Alfa shield in outline. The larger rear light
clusters first fitted to United States market 1750 GTV's were
standard for all markets on the 2000 GTV. USA market rear turn
signals were red instead of yellow on non-USA models. The side
marker lamps were larger and did not have a turn signal flash
feature. The owner states that this fine example includes the
following updates: Body restoration: New rear quarter panels,
inner/outer rocker panels, multi-coat paint job of original color.
All windows are clear are scratch free. New trunk skirt and chrome
fixtures. Engine: Fitted with 2 Weber 45 DCOE carburetors (cleaned,
new jets, ...); new steel fuel line, radiator hoses, three types of
efficient air cleaners (depending upon what type of carb induction
sound owner prefers). The milage is 60,000 miles and is believed to
be accurate. Drive train: has been thoroughly reconditioned
including: engine top end (valves, guides, seals, head set, ...);
drive shaft: (u-joints, flex joints, bearing, supports, pinion
seals,); brakes: (master cylinder, new calipers, hoses, brake
pads...); suspension (new front and rear shocks) Additional updates
include, new wiper motors and a stainless steel exhaust system
(from Alfaholics UK). All operational systems have been carefully
restored to original specifications. Cabin instrument's function
and give accurate readings. A signed Nardi wooden steering wheel
enhances the interior which has been updated, but not fully
restored. The partial restoration includes new seat covers, new
carpeting and Dynamat sound damping throughout including trunk. A
vintage Pioneer cassette radio is installed with speakers mounted
in doors. Also included is an uninstalled new headliner and visors.
A cigarette lighter to serve as 12v outlet to charge iPhone, etc.
is installed. A new shift boot has been installed. A small,
gimbaled drink holder graces the center console. An outdoor cover
(for use when traveling) and indoor dust cover are included. As an
added convenience, a small lead from battery for trickle charging
