This really fine 1968 Corvette convertible is owned by a good couple in Crystal Springs, Ms. The owners are my life long friends and I am assisting them in selling the car. The couple bought the car at a Corvette only Mecum sale in Chicago in 2011. The car was originally sold and owned by some folks in Oregon. They sold it (through a dealership in Oregon) in 2004 to an individual in New York state. This individual sold it to a dealer in St Louis in 2011 and that dealership sold it to Mecum.
The car is a original engine L79, 327 cubic inch, 350 horsepower vehicle with a 4 speed transmission. All numbers match. it is equipped with power steering and brakes. The car was originally green but was painted black by the current owners soon after purchase in 2011. The hard top was reconditioned in 2011 and goes with the sale. This couple have a fine car collection with a 1967 Chevelle SS, 1969 427 Camaro, 2016 Z06 Corvette and a 2023 C8 Corvette (see photos attached.). All of these vehicles are about as nice as they come and they all have one thing in common - they are all black! So the car was painted but a there is no trace of green on the car. All of these vehicles are show worthy and the couple has a room full of trophies. This car won best of show once at a 100+ car show in Brookhaven Ms. They are selling the car for one reason only - since the purchase of the C8 Corvette they are out of garage space.
The Corvette is a driver. The car has been driven about 9000 miles since it was purchased in 2011. The odometer is showing 10064 miles and the documentation shows it at about 1100 miles when purchased. The couple drive all of these cars and the '68 is a good and dependable driver. They have taken it to the big show Cruising the Coast on the MS Gulf Coast twice and it performed well in the bumper to bumper traffic there. The radiator was replaced soon after purchase. When I inspected the car to generate this ad, they cranked it cold for me and it cranked immediately after having set up for at least a week. The interor has not been replaced by the current owners but likely was replaced by a prior owner. There is one small wear spot on the bottom of the driver's seat back. The tires were replaced in the last 12 months and have almost no use on them. The convertilbe top has also been replaced in the last 24 months. All lights, gauges, vacuum system for lights and wipers, speedometer/odometer, radio, etc work.
