this car.
Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this beautiful numbers
matching 1969 Corvette Stingray Convertible in fantastic condition.
This Stingray looks great, runs great, and is an excellent driver.
It is finished in the beautiful color combination of Can-Am White
(972) over Bright Blue Vinyl (411) with a black soft top. This is
the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on
the trim tag, which is pictured in this ad. The desirable paint and
trim codes, along with all of the other nice options, are also
verified as correct and original by the factory build sheet, or
"tank sticker," that is pictured and included with the car.
We recently driven this Stingray over 20 miles. During that time
the car had no issues, was completely reliable, and was a pleasure
to drive.
This Corvette is "Numbers Matching" meaning the engine and
transmission that are in the car now are the same correct and
original units that were installed at the factory in St. Louis in
1969. The last six digits of the VIN, 732366, are stamped on the
engine pad, which is pictured in this ad, and the engine is
original to the car. The transmission is also original with the
last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case.
We have this car priced to sell and are offering an excellent
opportunity to own a very desirable classic Corvette Stingray
Convertible at an unbeatable value. The convertible Stingrays draw
a nice premium over the standard coupe body style. One could easily
buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in
years to come as the market on C3 "chrome bumper" Corvettes from
1968 to 1972 is absolutely red hot right now and on the rise.
Please peruse all of the photos, video, list of numbers, and other
information below to get a true sense of how nice this Corvette
really is.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We
hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come
from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give
the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Corvette, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Can-Am White (972) exterior is in great driver condition. As
one can see in the photos the finish has dazzling gloss and nice
shine. The rally wheels and center caps are in excellent condition
with a nice finish and no curb rash. The BF Goodrich raised white
letter tires have plenty of tread left and are correctly sized
225/70R15. The soft top is in great condition with no holes or
frayed edges. The rear window is clear and not scratched up or
yellowed, but does have a scuff at the bottom. The chrome and
brightwork looks wonderful overall with a brilliant finish. There
are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded
from the photos. There are some small spots in the paint, a rougher
area on the left rear, and may be some other blemishes that were
too faint to show up in the photos, but nothing that is really
noticeable from about five or ten feet away. This Corvette has no
rust issues and as one can see in the many photos of the underside
it is very clean underneath. The frame is totally solid with no
rust around the "key hole" area in front of the rear tire and there
are no signs of corrosion around the windshield, which are the two
most notorious areas for rust on a Corvette of this era. We have
included specific photos of the areas most prone to rust to show
how solid this car is.
Interior
The Bright Blue (411) interior of the Corvette is in fantastic
condition. The seats are in excellent shape with no rips, holes, or
split seams. The seat is not overly worn in the typical spot on the
bolster where the driver gets in and out. The gauge faces are clean
and crisp and the lenses are clear. The door panels are in superb
condition, there are no cracks in the typical spot where the
driver's elbow sits. The carpet is also in great condition with no
rips, holes, or major stains. This includes the rear carpet, which
is often neglected. The dash is in excellent shape with no cracks
or sun fading. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no
burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes.
Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well,
especially for a convertible, and the excellent condition of this
interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention
this Stingray has received throughout its life.
Mechanical
This Corvette seems to be in good mechanical condition. As stated
above we have driven this car over 20 miles with no issues. The
original numbers matching engine starts up right away every time,
runs well, and idles smooth. The car drives great and feels nice on
the road and at highway speeds. In the video one can observe the
car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through
all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves.
Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the
car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do
not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts well
throughout the power band. The car runs cool and does not overheat.
Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and
correct as one can see in the photos.
The horn works as do the exterior lights, dash lights, indicators,
wipers, and blower for the heater on all speeds; even the "Seat
Belt" light on the dash works. The blower for the heater works on
all speeds. The vacuum system for the headlights and wiper door
works properly. Please note that the vacuum system works properly
from both the respective switches on the dash and the override
switch under the steering column. The operation of the headlights
and wiper door by both switches can be seen in the video. All of
the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. Some of
the fiber optics work. The heater core has been bypassed. As one
can hear in the video, this Stingray sounds awesome and has a very
healthy exhaust note. Not enough can be said as to how much of a
pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a
beautiful day.
A note on the fiber optic light monitoring system, we consistently
receive many questions about the purpose of this system; exactly
what it is and what it does. The sole and main idea behind the
fiber optic light monitoring system is to simply confirm that all
of the exterior lights, headlights, indicators, tail lights, etc.,
are working and to make the driver aware of a burned out bulb. Each
lamp on the outside of the car has an actual fiber optic cable that
runs to an indicator on the center console. There are nine small
indicators on the console and each has its own fiber optic cable.
When the bulb goes on the light travels through the fiber optic
cable and illuminates the corresponding indicator on the console.
If someone does not remember to plug the cable end into the lamp
housing, does any work to the center console, or if there is a
break in a connection or anywhere along the cable, that indicator
no longer works. As one can imagine, over time this is very
common.
Overall Condition
