This is a #s matching, body off frame restored Corvette. The
427-390 hp was upgraded with a factory tri-power making it 400
hp.
EXTERIOR: Look at this sleek flowing lines on this roadster! It has
the raised hood which is an indicator of the big block motor
underneath it. The body is in excellent shape, no damage and it
fits nice. It is repainted it's original Fathom Green metallic
which is polished smooth and glossy. The chrome is straight and
shiny, it as a correct antenna and optional louver inserts in the
front fenders. The tires are BF Goodrich custom made red lines with
15x8 rally wheels that have new shiny trim. Great looking tan
convertible top. The top frame was painted, weather strips were
replaced.
INTERIOR: The tan interior looks fantastic against the Fathom
Green. It is very tidy throughout. Sit in the car and you will
notice nice firm cushions in the reupholstered seats. You'll be
looking at a beautiful dash: all the gauges, lenses and controls
are clean. It has a retro stereo right in the factory location, box
speakers sit in the back. Original type reverse lockout shifter
sticking out of the console which also has switches for the power
windows. The carpet was replaced front to back. Door panels look
new. It also has a tilt-telescopic wheel.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is the original, # matching
427-390 hp motor. It's been upgraded with the factory tri-power
system bringing it to 400 hp. It has correct carbs, fuel lines,
intake, air cleaner, valve covers etc. It has been upgraded with a
set of headers. Other than that it is stock including the ignition
shielding and braided stainless plug wires. The cooling system all
looks proper. All the components look fresh and proper. It's very
detailed in the engine compartment.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame during restoration. It has
independent front and rear suspension which was completely rebuilt.
The steering was rebuilt. It has four wheel disc brakes which were
also redone, e-brake cables are hooked up. It's a great sounding
dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers and the polished tips going
through the valance. Looking up at the motor it is clean Chevy
Orange. It has a correct Muncie 4-speed transmission. The rear end
is the original dated coded 3.70 posi specific for a 427 motor. The
chassis is clean solid metal. The fiberglass floors are not
damaged, it's been painted semi-gloss black. The spare tire carrier
is in place.
SERVICE: We inspected this car and ended up fixing the reverse
lights, installed wiper arms and blades, repaired the horn,
repaired turn signals, replaced the temp sensor and fixed a low
beam light.
A # matching, frame off restored roadster with a 427, tri-power,
4-speed and a 3.70 posi! Not only is that an incredible investment
but sounds like a bunch of fun too!
