Vehicle Description
Chassis No. WDBFA68F9XF174075
Replacing the beloved "R107" in 1989, the new "R129" SL ushered in
the new millennium. The styling was revised, and a completely new
V8 engine was offered for the 1999 model year. Replacing the
"M119," the 5.0-liter "M113" delivers 302 horsepower with a
lighter-weight design improving handling characteristics. Comfort
and conveniences abound, from automatic climate control to the
fully power-operated soft-top. Today these cars have aged
gracefully into their role as a "youngtimer" classic that still
offers lovely modern amenities.
With a flair for the dramatic, the original owner of this 1999
Mercedes-Benz SL 500 specified in Sunburst Yellow paint. A Black
leather interior and a power-folding fabric soft top contrasted
this distinctive paintwork. Should the situation warrant, a
body-colored Sunburst Yellow hardtop is available to transform this
sleek Roadster into a sporting Coupe.
This car benefits from numerous highly desirable options courtesy
of the SL-1 and AMG Sport Packages, which provide an ideal blend of
sporting high-performance styling with the refined characteristics
for which the SL is known. The SL-1 Package bestows the car with
heated 10-way power-adjustable seats, a trunk-mounted six-disc CD
changer, and Xenon High-Intensity Discharge headlamps, offering a
significant performance increase over traditional halogen lights.
The AMG Sport Package redesigned the front bumper with a mesh air
intake and a sculpted lower front apron. Additional sporting flair
was added to both side skirts and the rear bumper. A final touch to
this package was the use of new thin-spoke AMG monoblock alloy
wheels with a staggered setup.
The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report confirms that SL 500
car was delivered new in early October 1998 to its first owner by
Vinnie Mandzak of Beverly Hills Mercedes-Benz and remained in
Beverly Hills with its first two owners before moving to Houston,
Texas, in December 2004 with just over 10,000 miles. The SL
remained with its long-term Texas owner for the following 18 years,
until it was sold in September 2022, with just 32,799 miles. Today
the car displays just over 33,000 miles at the time of cataloging
and presents a truly unique opportunity to obtain a striking SL 500
in rare Sunburst Yellow.
