Vehicle Description
This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Tribute offers a cool look,
premium details, hidden headlights, and an awesome big block
upgrade. So it's the kind of car you get to enjoy driving and
people love to see you go rumbling by.
The light green is a nice addition. It reminds us of 1968 colors
like Ash Gold and Seafrost Green to give off the right
period-correct vibe, but it's a unique color to stand out in a
crowd. And the real reason why this will get noticed is because
this is a quality application with a nice gloss and a touch of
metallic glow. Plus, the black vinyl top has a snug-fitting look of
quality. And it coordinates with sporty details like the D90-style
stinger stripe, the chin spoiler, RS grille with hidden headlights,
and the big block blackout rear panel for a subtle two-tone. There
are additional sporty details, like the velocity stack hood trim,
rear spoiler, polished dual exhaust tips, and rally wheels with the
wider rear set. So it's a sharp-looking speedy coupe. And the
overall attraction goes right down to the fundamentals. The doors
shut solid, the weather-stripping is pliable, the glass is clear,
and even the Rally Sport headlight doors operate smoothly.
Inside, the seats, door panels, and headliner are all done in a
vibrant parchment that looks quite clean and pristine from
investments later in life. Plus, the carpeting is done in black, so
you never have to worry about dusting off your shoes before going
for a drive. And there are good features for a driver's coupe, like
the upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo and provisions for factory air
conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold again.) It feels
good to slip into the bucket seat. Your left hand will feel the
grip of the three-spoke steering wheel and your right hand will be
attracted to the horseshoe shifter in the center console. And the
auxiliary gauge package mounted under the dash will give you the
best updates on what's happening under the hood.
It's always great to see a Camaro engine bay filled with proper big
block power. The motor looks nice with details like the bright
valve covers, matching air grabber, and bright orange block. But
our favorite part might just be the callout decals. Because while
this says 396, it's actually a LARGER 454 cubic-inch V8. Not only
does it have an upgraded displacement, but it's a performance-built
package that includes a Holley four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock
aluminum intake. The TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is
the right balance of stout and smooth to be used with this big
block. And there's also power steering, power brakes, and wide BF
Goodrich T/As with a (new rear set) for a solid driving
experience.
This is the shining Camaro done with an awesome style and serious
power. So if you're looking to make the scene just by arriving,
