Vehicle Description
This 1970 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 is a true dream classic with a
proper pedigree. That means it has its numbers-matching big block,
a long-term first owner, and an impressively low odometer with an
actual miles title. And when you see just how this one brings a
clean and classic muscle car presence to the streets, you'll know
this Super Sport Camaro is truly irresistible.
This is the first year of the second-generation Camaro. That's
quite a significant coupe, and so we're quite happy with the way
this one has been well-respected. It's a California-built Camaro
that was sold new in California. The title info we have on it even
shows that the first owner kept this car for nearly 40 years. And
since the odometer shows this has averaged under 750 miles
annually, it proves that everyone has given this Super Sport the
respect it deserves. That also means making the right investments.
So the factory-correct Classic White paint has a crisp and clean
shine to showcase some of the purest lines ever put to a Chevy. The
pointed front end is accented by a form-fitting chrome bumper; the
crisp line runs through the entire middle of the profile; and the
recessed rear end created by the sheet metal and bumper joining
together almost seamlessly - this all tells you a stylist really
worked on this coupe. And we love the details that tell you this is
a high-performance SS. You have the blacked-out grille, matching
blacked-out rear, bright exhaust tips, and upgraded Cragar SS
wheels on redline tires.
Since the black accents look so good against the white exterior,
we're quite happy to see the full black interior. The door panels,
dash, carpeting, and headliner all have a nice and dark appearance.
We especially like the textured upholstery on the low-back bucket
seats (a 1970 exclusive.) Nice classic options are still in place
like the AM radio and factory air conditioning, but you will need
to service them to return the function. And we just like the
overall vintage atmosphere that has a clean but correct style to
remind you what an old-school muscle car really feels like.
Under the hood is the original numbers-matching 396 cubic-inch V8.
We love big block Chevys, and this one was actually quite rare.
This was a shortened model year, and so there are believed to be
less than 1900 L34 motor cars made. It's this rarity that also
explains the exceptionally clean presentation. And this looks
correct everywhere from the GM hoses to the Rochester four-barrel
carburetor. Keeping this motor tidy also means keeping it properly
maintained, and you feel that in the way this classic fires up
eagerly and runs strong. The numbers-matching TH400 three-speed
automatic transmission is stout but smooth, and it feeds into a
12-bolt Positraction rear end. Plus, with power steering, power
brakes, front discs, and a rear sway bar, this is the kind of
classic where it will be irresistibly easy to add to the low
odometer.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, title
documentation, and a reproduction window sticker. This is a
significant and powerful big block Camaro that has been treated
with the respect it commands. Call today!!!
