This 1965 MGB is presented in Tartan Red over a black interior with
red piping, a black
pack-away convertible top and a black tonneau cover. IT'S ALIVE!
acquired this
example in the spring of 2022. Upon initial inspection it was noted
that several
upgrades have been fitted including a PerTronix electronic
ignition, spin-on oil filter
conversion and braided steel oil cooler lines. The engine was
reputedly rebuilt in 1995
with .040"-over pistons and rings. It was during this rebuild that
hardened valve seats
(safe for modern-unleaded fuel) were installed in the cylinder
head. After the engine
rebuild was complete the odometer was reset to zero, such that the
mileage displaced
represents the mileage accrued on the rebuilt engine. A mere 3,410
miles later in 1998
the car was acquired by a resident of South Bend, Indiana who
oversaw a cosmetic
restoration. Said restoration consisted of a complete respray in
correct Tartan Red
while a new, black interior was fitted. After nearly 20 years of
ownership, the car was
acquired by a resident of Mishawaka, Indiana who a short time later
sold it to the
Missouri resident IT'S ALIVE! acquired the car from.
Recently serviced including new clutch hydraulics, the MGB presents
today as a well
sorted driver's quality example with fresh appearing cosmetics.
Having traveled a mere
15,200 miles since 1995, the MGB performs as well as it presents.
Clearly the subject of
years of meticulous care IT'S ALIVE! is pleased to represent this
