For Sale: 1967 Pontiac GTO in Concord, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

STK 3554 1967 Pontiac GTO

Few cars in automotive history have garnered as much popularity during their first generation as the Pontiac GTO. From a low-key start as an option for the Tempest sedan in 1964, to the iconic 1967 GTO, this first-generation Pontiac muscle car was a history maker. This 1967 GTO is a stunning example of the original 'Goat' that has been in the possession of the current owner for the past 10 years. (He has provided a ream of documentation including a copy of the original build sheet.) It has received a complete restoration with mechanical upgrades including a beautiful, professional 2-stage re-spray of Mayfair Maize, a factory GTO color (original finish was red). The vinyl top and all chrome are outstanding and the black vinyl bucket seat interior was fully restored to better than original condition. This classic GTO is equipped with air conditioning, tinted windows, an Autometer ProComp gauge package w/tach and an aftermarket AM/FM/cassette stereo.
In 1967, Pontiac increased the GTO engine displacement from 389 CI to 400 CI. The base engine produced 335HP, but the motor in this GTO was built by Butler Performance in Leoma, TN. The displacement of the 400 was increased to 467ci and the engine was treated to a full complement of mechanical enhancements including a balanced rotating assembly, ported/polished Edelbrock aluminum heads (2.11"/1.77"), Comp solid-lifter cam (.564/.571 lift - 260/264 duration), 1.6:1 aluminum roller-rockers, 7-qt. oil pan and Doug's 1-7/8" ceramic-coated tube headers. A single plane high-rise aluminum intake mounts a Holley Demon double pumper. An MSD ignition system proves fire and cooling is managed by a BeCool aluminum radiator. The beast is backed by Pontiac's 4-speed manual transmission with Hurst Competition Plus shifter and a positraction differential. Front suspension is coil springs with HD sway bar and the rear is also coil springs plus a classic 'ladder bar' traction kit. Steering and 4-wheel drum brakes are both power-assisted and period-correct Pacer 5-spoke chrome wheels (5) mount 15" Firehawk performance radials. This impressive Pontiac GTO is going to make its new Poncho owner very proud. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
