Thunderbird convertible for sale in our Mesa, AZ showroom.
Two-seater Ford Thunderbirds made a huge splash between 1955 and
1957. Their appeal and name recognition continue almost seventy
years later. "Porthole" windows in the '56 and '57 removable
hardtops remain a styling icon. The one-year-only fins on the '57
'Birds make them unique within this fine flock.
The factory ordered Gunmetal gray with colonial white top was fully
repainted to Flame Red sometime between 2012-2016 from a
professional restoration shop in California. This is one of the
most striking color combinations and who can deny the attraction of
a red Thunderbird? A removable hardtop come with the car as well as
a stand for the hardtop. Mirror like chrome bumpers, egg crate
grille, and for the rear in bumper exhaust ports, this car screams
look at me.
Code XH indicates that the original interior trim was Flame Red.
The consignor had the interior fully re-done after the paint was
completed. They upgraded the interior to white. The seats are in
excellent condition with no tears or cracks. The dash has a big,
curved overhanging cowl in padded white vinyl for the topper, and
more machined aluminum and a litany of round gauges and chrome
bezel black knobs and pulls. A town and country AM radio is neatly
installed and as we gaze across the dash we can note temp, fan
controls, and a nearly hidden glove box, but the deeply inset
keyhole gives it away.
With a flip of the front hinged hood there's more "bling" with some
sting with a V8 312ci. Painted in red with a totally restored
engine bay with a 4-barrel carb backed by a 3-speed automatic
Ford-O-Matic transmission. This is a beautiful well-kept
Thunderbird. She fires right up with a low rumble and is ready to
attack the streets. Smooth shifts, handles great and the power
brakes function perfectly. It also includes a spare tire located in
the trunk.
This Thunderbird will be sold on a clean Arizona title with
receipts and a service manual. This is a beautifully restored
