Vehicle Description
Older professional build still in excellent condition. 350 Chevy V8
with TH350 transmission and Ford 9-inch rear. Cold A/C, power
windows, leather seats, GPS/Nav/backup camera, remote entry. Downs
body. A cool vintage hauler with all the right parts! This cool
1934 Chevrolet panel delivery was built by Midwest Street Rods, and
we have a ton of documentation to go with it. It has been updated
and freshened over the years and it has been a consistent
award-winner throughout its existence. We like the chopped body,
which is a Downs Fiberglass piece, and the '34 Chevy is
particularly handsome. It still looks like a '34 Chevy, but the
low, lean profile really works on the panel delivery and you
certainly won't see one at every show you attend. There are cool
custom touches throughout, including shaved door handles, the cool
airbrushed graphics on the side panel, the steel Rootleib hood, and
the marker and tail lights neatly integrated into the fenders
themselves. Even the tiny trio of billet wiper arms is cool! Proud
Bowtie emblems let everyone know this is a Chevy, not a
garden-variety Ford, and some expert pinstripe work gives it
traditional hot rod flair. You'll also note updated LED lighting, a
removable screen for the billet grille (shown in photos), and a
back-up camera neatly integrated into the rear license plate frame.
This is one of the most well-thought-out street rods we've seen.
The interior was built to be comfortable for long hauls, starting
with a pair of gray leather bucket seats from a late-model. Custom
door panels match the wrap-around dash and a center console was
fabricated for the secondary controls. Accessories include cold
A/C, a tilt steering column with a leather-wrapped wheel, and the
screen ahead of the driver is for a navigation system and back-up
camera. The doors are opened by a remote key fob, with hidden
secondary switches to ensure you can always get in. VDO gauges
monitor the warmed-over small block up front, and like the
exterior, the interior abounds with cool little details like the
map pockets in the front doors and the custom shift knob. It's
strictly a 2-seater, but there's a decent-sized cargo bay in back,
accessed through a large main door that also has a remote open
feature and a power window for added ventilation. Lots of sound
deadening materials ensure that the interior stays cool and quiet
on long cruises-you may find that this is your favorite rod to
drive! The hardware breaks no new ground, but it's proven and
reliable and that's often the point with a street rod like this.
The 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 was fresh when the car was built about
31,000 miles ago and it runs superbly. There's a new Edelbrock
4-barrel carburetor on top, a big radiator with powerful electric
fan, and lots of chrome and polished aluminum to make it look good.
The A/C system uses R134a refrigerant so it'll always be easy to
maintain and thanks to the proven combination, it starts easily,
idles nicely, and cruises effortlessly in today's traffic. A full
custom frame includes a Mustang II style front crossmember with
rack-and-pinion steering and disc brakes, making it easy to handle
and agile in traffic. The TH350 3-speed automatic clicks through
the gears unobtrusively and we believe there are 3.00 gears in the
9-inch Ford rear end, so it's a relaxed cruiser on the highway. The
rear suspension is a 4-link with coil-over shocks, and it has all
been painted to contrast with the bright yellow bodywork-it's
nicely detailed. Of course, things like the wiring, hoses, and
lines were all new when it was built and remain in excellent
condition today with no issues. Staggered Weld billet aluminum
wheels measure 14x6 up front and 15x7 in back, and carry 195/70/14
and 235/70/15 BFGoodrich radials, respectively. Documentation is
extensive, including build receipts, maintenance records,
performance notes, awards, and much more. Nicely built, expertly
maintained, and ready to cruise or show, this handsome Chevy
delivers-literally! It's innovative where it matters, comfortable
where it counts, and fun to drive anywhere. If you've been thinking
about building, why bother when you can own this one for half the
cost? A cool and unusual street rod with all the right parts, ready
to go right now. Call today! NOTE: This vehicle is titled as a 1934
