A great rat rod is all about an unashamed performance appearance
with secret cool rewards hidden throughout, and this 1928 Ford
Tudor does it right. There's a noticeable added thoughtfulness
everywhere from the custom pinstriping to the adjustable air ride
suspension that lets you look like a properly slammed outlaw
machine.
This Ford has an industrial toughness that cannot be denied. You
see it in how the body still shows the marks from where it was
chopped, and also where it was channeled over the frame to give it
that ultra-low look. Everything on this rat rod is done with a bit
of a hidden purpose. For example, the roof might look like it has
the classic vinyl top that came on the Model As, but unlike those
factory cars, it also snaps away in case you want to be open to the
world. The custom pinstriping on the rear looks cool, and it helps
to highlight the big custom STOP light in the rear. A drilled form
drop axle, frenched license plate, and old-school drag-style
whitewalls are all part of this hot rod fun.
Open the door, and the full rat rod experience continues. Sitting
low on the floor cushions and grabbing the tall gearstick will
instantly make you feel like the Rat Fink. That's why this will
always make a very charismatic first impression. But once again,
take a moment to look at the details to find the full intent of
this build. They nicely integrated upgrades with the air ride
switches out of the way above the driver's door, and the dash has a
classic style look but modern Dolphin readouts.
The engine bay has been engineered for a worn-in appearance, and
just like the rest of the car, it's secretly rewarding. This 350
cubic-inch V8 inhales deeply with a Holley four-barrel carburetor
and a high-rise intake. It exhales with authority as those headers
give a thunderous sound out of each side. And this mean motor also
has nice supporting components like an aluminum radiator with
electric fan. This sits on a custom frame made of strong square
tube steel. The front end is a solid axle with racing-style radius
rods, and the rear is a triangulated four-link. You can raise the
adjustable air ride suspension to make this better on the road, and
there are also good driving features like a three-speed automatic
transmission and front disc brakes.
You know you've already fallen in love/lust with the idea of being
the bad boy, especially since there are so many cool/custom details
to enjoy. Call today!!!
