Vehicle Description
When people talk about the term "old-school cool", they're probably
talking about a 1st-Gen Thunderbird. As far as those go, you really
can't do much better than this specific 1956 Ford Thunderbird,
which has to be one of the most beautiful cars we've had here at
Coyote Classics in quite some time. Embodying the phrase
"Show-Quality" in every way, this '56 T-Bird is a time capsule on
four wheels. Powered by the top-of-the-line Thunderbird engine for
'56, the 312 C.I. "Thunderbird Special" V8 sitting under the hood
of this 1956 T-Bird breathes through a dual-quad carburetor setup.
Make no mistake about it, this little T-Bird is deceptively quick
and with those 2x4-barrel carburetors, it sounds really good.
Torque is put to the pavement through the use of a 3-speed
automatic transmission, which allows for easy cruising as it shifts
nice and smooth. The exterior "Fiesta Red" paint looks beautiful
laid out over bodylines that are nice and straight, complimenting
the excellent chrome brightwork wonderfully. Even the white
convertible top matches the color scheme perfectly! The floors,
frame, trunk and jambs on this '56 T-Bird are in excellent shape
throughout, and all are rock-solid! Opening the twin doors reveals
a show-stopping red over white interior, complete with a
comfortable 50's-style bench seat that's just as nice to look at as
it is to sit in. Being the top-of-the-line T-Bird for 1956, this
example is packed with options. They include power steering, power
brakes, front disc brakes, an aluminum radiator, a "dual-quad"
2x4-barrel carburetor setup, a polished and detailed engine bay,
factory gauges with a working tachometer and clock, a see-through
speedometer, a vintage-style AM/FM/Cassette stereo system, a
wrap-around windshield, vent windows, a "Continental" rear spare
tire kit, a manual white convertible top, and a sweet-sounding dual
exhaust system. The car rides on a slick set of Coker "American
Classic" whitewall tires over stock 15" Thunderbird wire wheels for
a look that gives the impression this T-Bird stepped straight out
of 1956. As nice as this T-Bird looks, it runs and drives down the
road even better. With that "Dual-Quad" setup, this little T-Bird
really does move. The embodiment of 1950s optimism, this T-Bird
won't last long on our showroom floor, so don't let it pass you
by!
